Gifts for flower girl and reader

Catherine, on May 5, 2021 at 10:50 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

Hi All, Do I have to buy the flower girl and the readers a gift? I bought them their dress and I'm on a budget like everyone else, lol What are your thoughts?

I probably would get them somethings small. IDK how old the flower girl is, but something girly like a fun nail polish kit is usually pretty cheap. And for the reader maybe just a $20 target or starbucks gift card as a small thank you. Nothing outrageous!

Gifts are optional, though generally a nice gesture for someone contributing their time and energy to make your day amazing. If nothing else, I would definitely write them each a thoughtful card and express genuine thanks for their participation. Anything additional is really optional.

You need to thank them for their time and a gift is most common. That is why couples need to be mindful of how many people they ask to be involved because gifts are purchased for everyone.

Find something in a certain budget that fits their personal interests without any names/date/titles.

We did for our wedding. We gave our flower girls cute little sparkly pillows with their names on it. My grandmother read a poem at our wedding and I gave her a necklace I bought from Amazon. None of the gifts were very expensive, but it was more of the thought that counts.

Our ring bearers were my cousin's daughters (4 and 1.5). My cousin is a pastry chef and made our cake, and her daughters enjoy helping out in the kitchen and being her little bakers. We live near the coast, so we got them a set of baking-themed sand toys (to share) and individually customized baking aprons. We just bought plain red aprons then bought puff paints to customize them ourselves with the child's name and a small drawing (a lily for Lillian and a rainbow for Scarlett). The total we spent was around $25 for both of them.

I haven’t asked my girls yet, but they LOVE books. So I’m going to get them books and write about how important they are to FH and I, last summer I read to them all the time. Thinking about getting the little engine that could.. it has another book that corresponds with graduating high school and I’m gonna let their parents know about that!

I'm getting my flower girl (7) a little wristlet which will have a bracelet and necklace inside that she can wear to the wedding.
