Gift for the Groom

We ended up not doing additional gifts, but wrote each other letters that we had a bridesmaid/groomsman exchange for us to read the morning of the wedding! For us it was very sentimental and sweet (and, not why we chose it, but inexpensive! lol)

Some ideas I had when we weren't sure if we would do gifts were: custom cuff links, a nice piece of jewelry (watch, bracelet, whatever your guy is into!), custom socks with our dogs faces on them since they weren't there, a really nice frame or painting of our wedding venue for the house, etc.

Whatever y'all decide to do, just check in with FH and make sure you're on the same page with day-of gifts

We decided that our wedding rings are our gifts to each other and won't be getting anything else. We will probably write each other a letter though to read before the ceremony. We agreed that we're spending a lot of money on the wedding and our rings will be a nice gift to each other. Plus we get to marry each other and honestly, what gift is better than that? haha

I gave my DH a set of really nice scotch glasses. Not engraved, just fancy glasses that improve the taste of scotch. He uses them all the time.


The day before the wedding I also bought him a Lacoste polo I found when shopping with my MOH before our welcome party. That kind of counted as a wedding gift too haha.

I got my FH customized cuff links but they have his mom's picture on them; we aren't doing a memorial table and since she passed away we thought it would be a nice way to include her. Otherwise I'm going to write my FH a note for the morning of that I am going to give to the best man for my FH to read.

I bought my husband a new hunting rifle & wrote him a letter. I've heard of brides gifting a nice bottle of liquor, nice cigars, a humidor, or a boudoir book if you are looking for other ideas.

I'm getting FH this, then a picture of both of his grandparents who passed away in the inside. (He was really close with them). On the back it'll say something along the lines of "always with you" idk yet. He won't wear it, but I thought he could put it in his pocket for our wedding day. It'll be special to him. Also writing letters

I'm most likely going to get him a really nice watch, he can wear it on our wedding day if he wants.

I bought him a sword. Still don't know when I'll give it to him at the reception. I hope he likes it!

We're exchanging letters. I would have liked to exchange gifts because I love giving gifts and I'm good at giving gifts, but he is terrible at it and it was adding a lot of extra pressure. So we are writing letters to exchange and read while we're getting ready for our big day. All I know is I want to open mine before I start putting on my makeup because I know it will make me cry!

Some ideas I had before were: a nice watch, a funny shirt (he would have loved it and it would have been perfect for our honeymoon), cuff links engraved with his late brother's initials, or a nice grooming kit because he shaves his head regularly.
