Gift for guests

Laine, on January 31, 2020 at 3:30 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11
I was looking around to see what people give out for guests to keep from our wedding. I remember my aunt did something like this 10 years ago.
Does anyone have other suggestion?Gift for guests 1

So for the majority of your guests they aren’t going to want to keep something with your name or initials and wedding date on it and it will likely get left or thrown out. That’s been my experience and my wedding planners experience. If you want to do favors something edible is usually a good bet.

I forgot to mention that it’s small immediate family of 40 people! But that’s actually a good point.. I may just skip out then. Thanks (:

I had 34 guests at mine (it was a garden wedding) and we gave them chocolate covered sunflower seeds, a packet of thyme seeds and a little thing of bubbles (we had so many extra from the ceremony, so, into the bag they went, haha!). If you want to do something personalized, we got personalized sticker labels from shutterfly (I want to say I had a coupon and they were free, except shipping?) which we put on glass jars from michaels to put the candy in. People can peel off the label and keep the jar if they want that way! Otherwise I think people aren't really interested in personalized stuff.

Here is where we got the seeds to plant:https://bentleyseeds.com/collections/wedding-seed-packet-favors
Chocolate covered sunflower seeds we bought in bulk from a local nut and candy store, and the jars were pur hased from Michael's.
Not explicitly a favor, but something we provided to guests for them to keep during our ceremony were these wood fans https://www.amazon.com/Forsun-Sandalwood-Fan-Set-pcs/dp/B01GP9XK6K which were prettier than paper fans and about as cost efficient. I think they could be used as favors also? They aren't super durable, but did the job, and I know some people actually kept them for decor, haha.

My FH and I are doing a dessert bar that will act as our favors. Although the desserts will be available during the reception (after the cake cutting), we will also have ToGo boxes set out towards the end of the reception so guests can take some desserts home with them.

We decided to do this b/c we know that a majority of our guests wouldn't take home, or keep, an actual favor. My FSIL got married in November and ordered a bunch of favors for her guests with her and her husband's name and wedding date on them. When we helped her clean up the venue, I personally picked up around 20 that were left by guests, and others helping picked up some as well.

I like edible favors the best, like jams, macarons and cookies. I also saw some unusual Wedding Party Favors Ideas like compas, hangover kits and key tags.
