Gift for fh

Chrisheena, on November 8, 2019 at 1:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 16
I'm worrying about everyone else's gift, but haven't gotten my FH anything. Not that he's looking for it because he says I'm the gift. (So sweet he is) but I still wanna give him something. Any suggestions? Or what did you get your husband or future husband?

My FH and I mutually agreed to not give each other monetary/physical gifts, but we are writing letters to each other for the day of our wedding, and I might paint him something or write something else for him in addition to the letter. He appreciates more personal, sentimental gifts Smiley smile

I’m getting my FH a guitar because he plays a lot of musical instruments and we sold his guitar and piano when we moved out of state for my job.

I'm thinking about getting my FH a watch with something engraved on the back, but not really sure! I really like the idea of writing letters to each other - then they could be framed and hung in the bedroom or something to always remind you of the love you have for each other. Smiley ring

I still don't know if I'm going to do this. But I've read about a lot of brides giving their grooms a photo album of their boudoir shoot. There are companies that do this, and I've heard they can be pricey, but there are also deals out there, like groupon, that can make it cheaper. I think some of it depends on your area. But an album of some tasteful, sexy photos can be a really nice gift for your new husband.

So I did a really cool project (actually started it 2 weeks before the wedding day) where I joined FB groups that are called "love notes from around the world". There are tons of different groups, all with similar titles. Basically how it works is you "trade" with people all over the world for photos of love notes. For example: My note said "Ross, Bri's love for you is so big it has reached _____ (enter persons location I am trading with)" and these people would take a picture of it in front of a cool place where they live. In exchange, I did the same thing for them here. I made a photo album of the pictures and gave it to my husband the night before our wedding. He was almost in tears he loved it so much and he isn't the type of person to cry! Here are two examples I did for other people:

I've heard they do it very tastefully, and if you are shy about your body, they are respectful of that. It's not for everyone, but I'm still thinking about it. More because of my budget, than anything else.

I bought mine a nice leather carry on. We are having a destination wedding so I am giving it to him before the wedding. This is kind of neat because he NEVER took vacations until he met me. Now he has a bag and I am going to make him use it! Lol

We typically agree upon a dollar amount for gifts. For our wedding day that was no exception and our cap was $75.
I wrote him a note, had a album of us throughout the years, even clippings of wedding planning. A candle and matches since we were about to have a breakfast wedding and our prep was going on during his prime time if you know what I mean. And an "easy button" that read "hype" and blasted an air horn sound. They're kinda a mishmash of random things but he liked them.
He's much better of a gift giver and ordered his gifts in terms of sequence. First a record album. Secondly a DVD of a movie. Third was a card explaining which each signified, 1. The music I played and introduced him to on our shared Soundsystem at work when we met. 2. The movie we watched the first time we really hung out and the moment when things felt right.

Get what's right for your partner, something small that might call nerves might be the thing, a pair of socks even, or a granola bar in case they get hangry! It definitely feels like more pressure for a wedding gift but you've got a lifetime of gifts ahead! No need to distract from the real gift of getting married that day!

I got my FH something fun for his wedding gift. He's a big Green Lantern fan, so I got him socks, a pin, cufflinks and D&D dice.

I'm also giving up a spot in my home library to make him his own. (Now that's real love right there lol).
