Gift for father of the bride with strained relationship

Brittany, on June 1, 2022 at 8:58 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2
I am wanting to make handkerchief for our gifts to my dad, our moms, and my girls. I crochet and cross-stitch, so I will be embroidering them myself instead of buying them. Finding wording for our neices, mom's and my sisters was easy. But all the gift saying I find for FOB are too mushy and that is not the relationship we have. "Of all the walks we've taken, this is my favorite" "I'm always your little girl". I had that type of relationship when I was little but after their divorce, we haven't always had the best relationship. BUT my dad and his wife are paying a good chunk of our wedding so I want to be respectful and give him one too, and her now that I think of it while writing this.

Do I do a basic monogram. The funny "No ugly crying". I'm including some of the ones I'm thinking of doing for my two sisters, mom's, and two nieces.Gift for father of the bride with strained relationship 1

Hi Brittany! I think a monogram or the date of the wedding will definitely work and still be a really sweet gift!! Smiley heart

I’m having the same trouble. My dad and I don’t have the best relationship and everything is very mushy. If your dad has a sense of humor (mine does) I think the ‘No Ugly Crying’ or ‘Get Your Sh**Together’ is great!
