Gift for a 3rd marriage?

HI,

I'm trying not the be stingy, cheap, or inconsiderate. but my mother is getting married for the 3rd time and I'm clueless on what gift or if i should get her a gift. She have a registry for just about everything under the sun, well everything you would need to start a house with.

We also haven't gotten along will in the past few years and she did ask her fiance to marry her the day after i got engaged so its a pretty sore spot. But I'm trying to be the bigger person and not make a big deal out of it, and my fiance and I are going to her wedding.

I'm just not sure what to do as far as gift wise. their wedding is in about 6 weeks, in May.

    I would just pick a gift off of the registry in whatever amount you're comfortable spending. I totally get being salty over the situation but it's good that you're going to be the bigger person here. Smiley smile

    Pick a gift of the registry your comfortable with.. I would be pretty upset at this myself.

    I would just choose a nice gift off her registry and try to keep the peace.

    I agree with all above posters. Be the bigger person here. I do like the idea of getting the same gift as wedding #2!!! When she goes low.....go high!

    First off thanks everyone for the reply.
    My mother and I haven't been in a good relationship since she took off when I was a kid and cheated on my dad. As far as her last wedding. She married a guy who was in prison so their wasn't a actual wedding just signed papers at the Court House. But I did take her and my sister out to dinner afterwards.

    I had a neighbor who was on husband number three before she was 32. Two kids with #1, one kid with #2 and then two more with #3. I wanted to ask her: "When you were up there with hubby #3 did you want to turn and say, "This time I really mean it!"

    I have known a few people who have been married three times but they are like 80.

    She has a big registry on her THIRD wedding? That is interesting, comical and not something I would do for a second wedding...but to each their own. Personally, I would pass on the idea of putting thought into a gift for her, especially due to the relationship. Maybe just a gift card to one of the stores she is registered at if you wanted to do something. A nice simple card and a gift card of what you can afford. There ya go.

    Thanks everyone for your advice. Her wedding is this Saturday and my fiance and I got her a cast iron skillet , bottle of wine and a card.
