Gift for 11 year old son

Virginia, on February 17, 2020 at 3:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

My 11 year old will be walking me down the aisle and I would like to get him something special. Obviously he is 11 and pretty much ONLY into video games but there must be something?? Any ideas?

What about a handkerchief embroidered for his wedding day or engraved cuff links. He might think they’re lame now but he’ll appreciate them when he’s older

How about an experience instead of a gift. Like a concert ticket or tickets to comicon.

Maybe a watch, and you could give it to him before the ceremony so he could wear it on the day? Or in that vein, anything wearable and nice quality that he can continue to wear on special occasions as a reminder of your relationship Smiley smile

I think an 11 year old boy might find a watch more cool than, say, cufflinks or a nice tie/pocket square/ hankerchief set but I do not have kiddos so take my suggestion with a grain of salt!

Agreed with PP; if he's into video games, I'd get him a video game.

Or, like another PP, maybe an experience like tickets to a particular theme park or concert.

At 11, anything personalized is usually appreciated. They also make personalized video games, but I don't know too much about that as I'm not a gamer. There are sites where you can have personalized books or comics made, or you can make your own, too. I used to do this for FH when we were dating - I would create little digital comics of our adventures together and then print them. He saved all of them and we laugh about them whenever we find them while cleaning. They're great memories to have, and they're original - nobody else has them! You could make one with a video game theme. But this all depends on how creative you are, too. Some of the storybook ones will create the story FOR you.

I also like the watch idea. You can get them engraved, even on Amazon. There are killer wooden watches and you could engrave it with a video game quote, like "Ready Player One" or "Game Over", something like that.

My 12 year old son is walking me down the aisle and I am getting him a nice set of cuff links that I know he likes. (We were casually looking one day just in general for the wedding.) He found a set that is engraved with his initial and has a tie tack as well. I have it saved on Amazon that I will get him. I am hoping it will be something he can save for his future wedding.

My FH (sons new step-dad) is getting him a really nice band that firs his I-Watch that will match the color of his cuff links so we are both getting him a gift separately.
I am sure I will get him other things but those are the main things we are getting mine.
