Gift Certificate as Bridesmaid Gift

Jerrica, on June 10, 2019 at 3:45 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3
I have one bridesmaid that I'm trying to figure what to get for her. I've gotten everyone a necklace with their children's initials, but am doing something tailored more to their interests to add to it. The only one I struggle with is my sister-in-law. Shes pregnant and had mentioned wanting a professional maternity shoot. I cant afford the $100 my photographer charges, but considered gifting her with half the cost. I want to do it in a tasteful way though. Thought about creating a gift certificate and placing it in a nice frame. What do you guys think?

I think it's really sweet, but I wouldn't do it. You're kind of forcing her to spend her money which might be tight, or risking her not using it then you spent money on nothing. I think this would be an all or nothing type of gift.

Hey Jerrica! Congratulations on your engagement!

This is such a beautiful and thoughtful gift but I feel like Victoria has made a really good point. You don’t want your BM to feel pressured to spend her own money in case she decides that you no longer wants a maternity shoot.

Perhaps you could get her something like a gift certificate for a maternity massage or something that she can enjoy without having to add her own money to it.

I love the idea of getting everyone necklaces with their children's initials! They will be so special to each of your girls!

Yes, I second Sinead's suggestion. A maternity massage would be awesome, and she wouldn't have to spend her own money. I hope everything turned out okaySmiley heart
