Getting very, very nervous!

Emily, on January 30, 2018 at 6:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
Hello ladies!

*RANT*

So my FH and I have decided on a resort for our destination wedding. We’ve decided on the Dream Villamagna Nuevo Vallarta in Mexico. Great views and really affordable.

I’m starting to get nervous though because we are starting to do the contract and I’m second guessing now. I want to make sure it is perfect for us and our guests. I want to make sure our guests feel like it was worth their money to come all the way to Mexico.

Another thing im concerned about is the amount of people we can invite. We can have a max of 50 people. That’s not a lot for us. So I feel nervous inviting only certain family members.

So should we have a reception back home for all of the guests that couldn’t make it? UGH freaking out!

Is anyone else having these nerves?

That’s a personal decision. Maybe you should ask yourself why you are doing a destination wedding. If the reasons far outweigh a local wedding, then forge ahead and don’t look back.

We are having our destination wedding in Mexico at RIU Playacar in Playa del Carmen, Mexico on Feb 24, 2018 and we are having an at-home reception a month later. We have a very large extended family and we felt that we did not have the budget, or want to spend (honestly) a huge chunk of money on a wedding at home with all of our family in attendance. So we have been going to this same resort here soon for 6 years so we personally know the staff and management and have seen weddings while we have been at the RIU as well. I feel that while we could have up to 40 people attend our ceremony, before it would be private, however we had sent out save the dates early to let our family and friends know of our intentions, so that if they wanted to come they could, and we have 30 people going with us this year for our wedding, so it is very special to us for them to come and celebrate with us on this very special occasion. We also feel that we have saved most of our budget by doing a destination wedding as well, as the resort is all inclusive, so guests don't have to spend any more $ if they would like to, but it's kind of hard not to in Mexico with all of the shopping and fun excursions that they offer. We are having an adults only reception at home too as we are inviting around 220, so this has also helped us with our budget and costs. But Mexico is the way to go in my opinion, as I know the weather is perfect and the scenery is beautiful and it will make for some amazing wedding pictures too!!!! Good luck on your decision and Happy Planning! Smiley smile
