Getting ready

Sunny, on July 3, 2019 at 3:00 PM Posted in Community Conversations 2 14
For those that had a 6 pm wedding, what time did you start getting ready? Our ceremony is set to start at 6 pm and I will be having my makeup done as well and really would like suggestions on what time to start getting ready.

We're doing a 7:00 ceremony and I'm planning on getting started with my hair and makeup at around 2:00. This gives me 2 hours to get ready and plenty of time for a first look and photos before.

Our first look is at 4 but our ceremony is at 6. I was planning on getting ready around 1 or 2.

We started with hair at 9:00 AM and then had the MUA come to the venue about 11:00, and we got married at 6:00

Our ceremony is at 5 and we're doing a first look at 2. Right now, I have hair and makeup for myself and my ladies starting at 8:30am.

We are having everyone show up around 8am. We gave 2 people doing hair and makeup, but we also want to do photos before the ceremony. It won't be a first look, but pictures of the groom and his family, then switch for me and my family.

Our ceremony is at 5 PM, I'm getting ready with my bridesmaids at moms at 10 AM (done by 3:30/4:00 PM). We aren't doing a first look.

My ceremony is at 3, so HMUA will be coming at 8:30 to do 3 girls and then me. We are to be completed by 2 so I can relax for a few before I put on my dress.

What are you planning to do between first look and ceremony? I was thinking a max of like 1.5 hours so we could do a few pictures, but 3 hours seems really long to me.

First look is at 3 and then couple pictures. At 430 or so family pictures and then at 530 we are signing the Ketubah. That’s the Jewish marriage license- and of course there’s pictures with that.

I just wrote out my anticipated timeline for our 6 pm wedding. I think I'm going to start getting ready with the girls at home around lunch time and just have lunch there at the house while we do HMUA. We can get into the venue at 3, but that's not nearly enough time for HMUA, getting dressed/doing touch ups, and getting ALL of our photography done before the wedding itself at 6/6:15. I'm anticipating using that room mainly to toss on our dresses and get the bridal "getting ready" photos.

We don't plan on starting hair and makeup until 1pm. We're allowed to enter the venue early starting at 3pm so we'll finish getting dressed and do touch ups there.

Our ceremony starts at 530PM. Myself, my bridal party + 1 close family friend, and both my mom and groom's mom are all getting our hair/make up done from 11am-2pm. After that, we're doing first look photos. If you are doing photos after the ceremony, and don't want FH/FW to see you before the ceremony, you should be able to start getting ready later in the day. It also depends on how many people will be getting ready, is it just you, a large bridal party etc.
