Getting Ready

Kayla, on July 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

What did you do for breakfast and drinks the morning of when you were getting ready? I am trying to decide what to do for food and I'd like to have mimosas while we're getting ready. I'm thinking Panera bagels and fruit the morning of, but I'm worried that wont be enough. What else did you have for food? Also, how much champagne and juice did you get? I will have 11 of us girls getting ready that morning, 2 of whom don't drink.

I think if you had some assorted pastries that would be nice too or wraps

I would go light and definitely low carbs. Depending on the person the carbs may end up bloating people (at least they do me). Maybe some light egg fritattas, coffee and mimosas with a virgin option available, sparkling cider?

2 - 3 drinks per person, but I'd probably go no more than 2 you don't want your BP sloshing down the aisle.

I had Costco muffins and fruit for breakfast along with mimosas and then sandwiches, chips, and veggie platters for lunch.

We had fruit, mimosas, bagels, and cookies. There was lots left over.

Since we aren’t allowed at the venue until 4 hours before the ceremony, one of my bridesmaids has suggested that we go out to brunch that morning and then head to the venue for 12:30.
It’s not set in stone, but then we don’t have to worry about buying and transporting everything to/from the venue.

I second the motion on not doing a bunch of sweets and carbs. It will just spike blood sugar (Read, crash and nausea later) and bloat people. I would definitely serve a protein. If you are doing Panera, they have delicious egg soufflés that would be a great option.

I'm planning on doing mimosas with pastries, fruit, and coffee cake. I'm also providing sandwiches and chips/cookies for lunch, so we're not doing a huge breakfast spread. I think something light would be a good option for breakfast. For mimosas, I'm planning on buying different flavors of champagne/sparkling wine (peach, normal, etc) as well as different juice flavors (orange, strawberry, etc), and everyone can create their own mimosas. I'm also buying 1-2 non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice options, since two of the people in my group don't drink alcohol.

I did Panera breakfast. We had a fruit plate, bagels & cream cheese, pastries, and breakfast bars. Then coffee, water, juice & champagne.

We got bagels and donuts from Dunkin Donuts. Our venue provided coffee and water. I don't drink so I didn't have any alcohol available for my girls.

For my best friend’s wedding, we just all ordered Dunkin’ Donuts and she paid for it so everyone got what they wanted. For my wedding, we will probably do some bagels or something easy like that and my best friend wants to put together a mimosa bar with different juices and fruits.

Pastries and fruit with coffee would be great for breakfast. Maybe throw in some hash browns.

For lunch, you could have wraps delivered with chips and water/soda.
I drink but I don't like champagne nor do I drink in morning hours. Make sure to have plenty of juice/coffee/tea/water to cover everyone.

We stayed in a hotel and had a complimentary breakfast. We started getting ready around 11AM, so my husband and his groomsmen went to Dunkin and got all of us girls bagels and iced coffees Smiley smile We also had leftover pizza from the rehearsal dinner the night before. I barely ate though... I was too excited!

Thanks for all the input! I definitely didn't think of some of the things pointed out- like people not bloating when eating carbs. I think I've got a pretty good spread set, so hopefully my girls wont go hungry!
