Getting ready

futureMrsG, on June 30, 2019 at 1:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Me and my girls are getting ready at Embassy Suites. Our ceremony doesn't start till 1 and we start our hair and make up by 6:30 am and our completion time for hair and make up is at 10. I was wondering since everyone will be skipping lunch, i would provide finger foods. There is breakfast provided by the hotel but i'm not sure if the girls would want to eat after they have their hair and make up done. I don't really want to do room service and was just thinking of ordering some outside food. Has anyone been in this situation? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You should provide breakfast for them to eat while getting ready. Since your start time is so early, they won't have time to eat before.

I went and grabbed a bunch of donuts, fruit and juice for my girls to snack on while they waited for their turn but hardly anybody ate except for the donuts. I had my sister run them down to the boys room for them to eat! Lol

Yes, if your bridesmaids are expected to spend all day with you then you must provide breakfast and lunch for them. If you don’t you’re essentially holding them hostage, haha

My girls ate lunch after getting their makeup done, they just waited to do their lipstick. We started at 7am and everyone had to be dressed by 130 so I provided a full breakfast and lunch.

We started at 10 and were ready for photos at 2:30 for a 5 pm wedding. I had Panera deliver and the hotel didn’t care about the outside food.

I ordered a dozen bagels and cream cheese, yogurt parfaits, fruit salad and egg soufflés. Plus coffee and OJ to be drank on its own or in mimosas. The juice, coffee and eggs were huge hits. Sadly most of the yogurts and a good amount of the fruit salad went to waste. Bagels were pretty popular too. I guess my girls didn’t feel like anything too healthy! In hindsight, I would have ordered more soufflés and bagels and skipped the yogurt all together.

I'd for sure have enough food to fill them up for lunch, so they don't feel like they are skipping it. Finger foods or foods you can eat with forks are best (doesn't mess up your makeup). Like salads, protein bars, granola & yogurt, etc.
