Getting Ready Timeline

Courtney, on June 25, 2018 at 10:48 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
Okay i need some help on figuring out what time to start getting everyone ready for the wedding. I have someone coming to do everyones hair which is, Bride, 4BMs, MoG and GoG. But make-up we are doing our own, my MoH is doing mine and her own and everyone else is doing their own. The Ceremony will start at 5:30pm and we are getting ready at the ceremony site. Also, any ideas on when to tell the Photographer to be there would be Great too!! Thank you

The photographer and hair stylist should be able to help with your timeline.

What is the first thing the photographer will begin to shoot? Getting ready photos?

Are you doing a first look? Bridal party photos before the ceremony?

Are you getting ready at the venue or somewhere else and then driving over?

How long does the hair stylist think each person will take? Do you have more than one hair stylist?

These are all details that are necessary to determine the timing of things.

I'd ask the photographer and hair stylist how much time they need prior to the wedding.

Hi Courtney! I hear that most people allow about four hours for hair and makeup. As for the photos, are you planning on taking them before the ceremony at all? If so, that can alter the timeline a little and you may want to start getting ready sooner. I found a great timeline template that gives a good guideline for the day of with everything from getting ready to the end of the night. I hope this helps! Smiley smile

I'd definitely start with the hairstylist to see how long they're going to take, then discuss things with your photographer. How long your stylist needs and the pictures you need to take before the ceremony will determine your timeline.

So both my hairstylist and photographer helped me on this one, telling me what time it needed to start to get everything else done, and also how long the hair and makeup will take!
