getting ready tank tops

Lynn, on February 23, 2017 at 9:31 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

So I'm planning on getting my BMs tank tops to wear while getting ready. I know I want the tanks to say something, but I don't want them to say something directly related to the wedding (like bride tribe or bridesmaid). Problem is, I don't know what I would want them to say. I was thinking of something like "not my problem anymore" and mine would say "i'm the problem". Is that really weird? I wish I was more creative. Any ideas? Or should I just order them blank and not have them say anything?

This may be off topic somewhat but don't tank tops smoosh your hair and shmear your makeup when you take them off?

And, as usual, I am with LG Smiley smile

I totally didn't think about what would happen with the hair and makeup!

Maybe the tank could be a thank you gift, but I'd suggest getting ready in something you don't have to pull over your head. Like a button up or robe.

If you do a tank as a gift, make it personal with a nickname or something like that. Search Pinterest lol

Would robes be better? I saw some really cute floral ones that my Bms said they liked. Or should I just leave getting ready attire to them?

What about a button up shirt? I'm just huge anti-robe. So lame.

Those robes though. They are cute in theory. But do they stay closed and cover what everyone wants covered?

    I love shirts.

Is this a photo prop? A gift?

I'm hesitant to do button ups just be I am already very busty and all of my Bms are bigger than me. I guess I could try to find some that are big enough to not gape.

One of my brides did tank tops for her BMs and herself. The BM ones said "I Do crew" and were black/gold writing. Hers said "Future Mrs" was white with gold writing. It was really cute. I think they wore them during one of the days at the bachelorette party as well. However, robes are a lot easier to take off with hair & make-up the day of the wedding.

@ Nonna, I was thinking for photos after we have our hair and makeup done and we're just chilling. I totally see your point about the robes not staying closed. Maybe I should into alternative route such a loose shirt (think something you would thrown on during a lazy sunday) that ways it would be easier to take off.

How about men's sized buttons ups? I'm a little bit on the bustier side as well and I know all too well the struggles of button ups and bigger breasts.

I just posted this in another thread, but I'm making zip-up hoodies for my bachelorette party (camping in NH) and then as a "getting ready" thing for my wedding (in NH/ME).

I'm having a mountains/forest/camping theme, so I came up with a little saying related to my wedding, but keeping to the wilderness vibe. These are more for pictures and aren't their gifts, so it has my wedding date. However, someone in the other thread suggested to not put the date on theirs and just on mine, which would make them less "unwearable" after the wedding.

Maybe you could do something similar for your wedding theme?

I'd prefer short sleeves because i get hot pretty fast, but I will look into this option! of course my Bms all like the robes better, so maybe i'll just cave and go with robes.

I also just posted in the forum Kelsey mentioned. I got all my men's button ups from Macy's, on sale ($8). I bought a variety of sizes so the girls could try them on (my mom is self conscious about fit, have a pregnant BM). From there, I took the winning sizes, lol, to be embroidered by a local woman for another $7. Much cheaper to do this way, and can guarantee fit, instead of ordering from etsy and guessing sizes and having non returnable personalized stuff. I returned the extras and boom done.

I added date to the inside cuff for mine. It sucks the girls found out about it before, BC I asked if they wanted to try, but they're a prop not a gift so I'm not fussing over it.

ETA - jcrew has some awesome/cute tanks that are loose and are slide-able over my larger bum and thighs. It's usually how I get undressed when wearing them, going over the head takes too much energy for me sometimes, hahaha
