Getting Ready Shirts

kbrands, on January 4, 2018 at 2:22 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

Where have you purchased shirts to wear the morning of the wedding? If etsy, what specific shop? Were you happy with them? Please include pics! Trying to keep it under $20 per person. NOT LOOKING FOR ROBES - looking for a zip up hoodie or flannel preferably.

Are you looking for something personalized? if not you might be able to scurry websites to find some good flannels or zip ups on clearance in the next few months. This might be cheaper then Etsy as well.

Old Navy has a bunch of flannels on clearance right now for $10. Their zip ups are a little more though.

Amazon and Forever 21 both have hoodies for around $14

Craft stores always have plain hoodies and things you could personalize. I second trying to find something on sale now at Kmart or target or old navy (May have to shop men's/boys) since it shoukd all be on sale now.

I should have specified more in my post. I want something personalized with at least a monogram and possibly Bridesmaid on the back. I am not crafty at all so I would like to purchase something. Thanks for all of the help!

For what it's worth, I would rather have something plain than to have it monogrammed or say bridesmaid. If it had to be one or the other then I would prefer just a monogram. Even if you're paying it's still nice to give them something that they'll use again.

I have considered that. I really would like some cute getting ready pics with the item which is the sole reason for purchasing it. I feel if it doesn't say bridesmaid or something that it kind of defeats the purpose. This item will not be a part of their gift, since it may not be usable again.

I've seen a lot of getting ready pictures in BAMs that don't include "bridesmaid" written on their clothing! If that's what you want then go for it but I don't think it's necessary by any means if that makes sense.

My sister got us all red men's shirts with our monogram on it. I know I wear mine still all of the time. The ones I've seen on etsy range from 25-28 so you may have to go up some.

I love the idea of a slightly oversized, monogrammed, white dress shirt! There are a ton online but for a lot of reasons I will likely buy the shirts then take them somewhere local to be monogrammed. The tailor in my hometown did it, so I'm sure I can find a place.

I made hoodies for my girls and used to sell them on Etsy, but the hoodies alone can sometimes be almost as much as $20, not accounting for the rest of my materials and time. Mine started somewhere around $25 for one sided, one color design.

It's going to be hard to find personalized hoodies for $20. I know people have gotten personalized robes on Amazon for cheap, so maybe Amazon might have something.

My favorite getting ready outfit ever was flannel shirts! The bride ordered them from Old Navy so they weren't too expensive. Cute and comfy

I would go the DIY route, buy shirts at a local store and take them to a local monogram store. I purchased button downs from Aeropostale for 15.00 a shirt. And brought them to a local store that does monogramming and paid 5 dollars a shirt for each monogram. I just did first initial, but would have been the same cost for the full monogram.

Second whoever said they would prefer something plain - I definitely would too! I think your pictures would look great without something written on the shirts, and wouldn't you rather know your money is going to something that will be used again?

I ordered flannels from Old Navy, they will not be monogrammed or anything though because I'm not a big fan.

We had those from the bride from a wedding we were in last November and her photographer did not even take a single pic of us all getting ready together wearing them. Actually no one got a group photo of us because no offense to anyone else who might have experienced this but a lot of the girls getting ready emphasis was put on the two grandmothers getting their hair and stuff done .. its cute for the photo ops but I literally have it stuck on a hanger in the back of my closet haven't looked at it since that weekend lol

Mine will look like this, but will say each girls fave food. I still don't know what mine will say. I found someone local to make them for $13 each. I wanted something other than robes that my girls will actually like. They suit our group well

That's one of the reasons I don't want to order one online. The shirts are always stiff or fit weird. I want them to look sharp and be something that's useful for the day but is a nice addition to your wardrobe.
Also, I think dressing alike adds a sense of comradery. A nice picture or two feels like a bonus.
This is if I choose more than one bridesmaid. My sister will be open to none of this ridiculousness.
