Getting Ready Outfits

Courtney, on October 12, 2019 at 6:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24
I know it is popular to do these now, but it is really probably the number one thing causing me the most stress right now.

I have 5 BM's plus myself. I have thrown around the idea of robes, pajamas, comfort color tank tops, and button down shirts. Honestly though it all seems so expensive for 6 outfits and an added cost that I'm really struggling with.

Right now I'm at the point of thinking of just asking everyone to wear a button up shirt and that be that. I know I cant specify the color unless I'm paying for them, but I mean I guess the "getting ready" photos in a "special" outfit or matching shirts isnt that important in the grand scheme of things.

I just wish I could find an affordable option. I found some pajamas at Target, but they are $25 a pop. I don't know, but if you've made it this far thanks for listening to me rant.

Check out ROMWE, I’m getting our robes from there, and they have cute pajamas too. Smiley smile) they’re also super cheap (11 dollars each, approximately) but I guess it’s possible that you lose some quality with the cheaper price. I’ll let you know how they are when I get ours, if you’d like.

I think this is definitely something you can let go, if it's an expense you need to eliminate. However, since your wedding isn't until April, I think you could also put it on the back burner and wait to make a final decision. PJs or button downs are exactly the kinds of things that you may be able to find really cheap on Black Friday and/or during after-Christmas sales. Target and the like, often have items like that for $10 during Black Friday sales. If possible, I'd try to collect size info, without making any promises. Then, if you see something that works in your budget, you can order them. Daughter chose plaid flannel shirts from Old Navy for her "getting ready" outfits (paired with black leggings everyone already owned). She bought them on Black Friday.

This is sooo not worth stressing about girl! Just tell people to wear whatever they want honestly, it isn’t worth it if it’s causing you stress!

I told my girls to wear whatever they wanted! I just wanted everyone to be comfortable. Every wedding I’ve been in I end up throwing away the cheap getting ready outfit as soon as I get home. I don’t think they are worth it.

I ordered 7 cheap robes, they were about $4 something a piece from eBay. They are coming all the way from China so I have to wait a bit for them to come in but I only spent $35 with taxes because I got a coupon from eBay. I’m just giving the robes to my girls in their boxes the morning of so they can wear it over whatever other clothes they want to.

I have 8 bridesmaids and since we’re paying for our own wedding, this was an expense I said heck no to. Instead I gave everyone general guidelines on what to wear. I chose a color scheme (navy, gray, light blue, light pink) and suggested they wear something that’s easy to take off because of hair and makeup. They all liked the flexibility of it but also appreciated me actually saying what I’d like without being obnoxious about it.
My photographer loves to get the robe shots (she literally carved 20 minutes for these shots into our timeline) but I told her sorry we aren’t going to be matching! I think the variety of styles and colors will be nice for photos!

If it's not in budget, I wouldn't do it. Ask all the girls to wear black tank tops or tshirts and pajama shorts or pants. Old Navy sells pajama pants for $10 sometimes and tank tops for a couple bucks, you could do that?

Just don't worry about it, these picture are not ones that you will frame or anything.

Here ya go!! Two of my bridesmaids ended up putting their dresses on early (they forgot we were doing photos beforehand) but it ended up being totally fine!

Honestly, no. It would have been just one more thing for me to coordinate and one more thing to buy. The girls didn’t have matching dresses either, just the same color and I ended up loving how it looked in photos! Getting Ready Outfits 2

I really am stressing it too Lolol. Like the guys don’t do any of this stuff. And the photographer is with them getting ready and stuff too. I don’t know why it’s such a big deal for the women.

I skipped matching outfits and the getting ready photos looked just as cute as the matching robes ones. I really don't think it's worth the stress for like 3 photos. It's not like these are ones you're likely to hang up in your house agree the fact.
