Getting ready outfits

Lauren, on July 5, 2020 at 11:59 AM Posted in Planning 0 8
When should I be ordering getting ready outfits? I’ve found pjs at target that I want to get for my girls but my wedding is now postponed for a year(8.21.21)

Will they still have the same thing next year? I haven’t bought getting ready outfits for my 9/12/20 wedding yet, but we weren’t sure we were going to be able to have the wedding until last month. If it’s something specific you want that may be hard to find again, go for it, but if not I’d just wait until closer.

I agree with PP that it could possibly be out of stock or discontinued by next year, but if there’s and possibility that any of your bridesmaids could become pregnant in the next year, I would wait.

If it’s an outfit you think could be found again similarly elsewhere I would wait or if it’s majorly on sale then I would just get it

If it were an outfit that exactly matched what I was looking for, price was right, and if it was one where I would be upset if I couldn't find it again next year, I would probably buy it now. Otherwise, I'd wait.

Another thing to consider is the money aspect. Would postponing the purchase mean purchasing it when you’re buying a bunch of other stuff? Spreading purchases over time can help ease the financial burden, even if they are smaller purchases. Those still add up!
I do this with Christmas shopping. I start in the summer at the latest so that I’m spending a little at a time over the course of several months instead of a lot at once.

My girls and I are getting ready in flannel button up shirts and black leggings. Since we can’t get in the venue until 4 hours before the event, I don’t want us walking around in pajamas or robes, especially in November. Lol
But, if you really want a specific item, I’d get them now before the season changes because the styles and designs change every season.

That's what I'm dong to ease the financial burden up a bit, I figured if I start buying little things here & there when I see them, it won't be so hard later on. It also helps in case something goes wrong, I have plenty of time to re-order or something.

Lauren, I say if you really like it, then get it especially knowing Target & some things aren't always available at a later time. If you're still unsure, ask an associate if they know how long they'll carry that specific item.

Since you’ve got time, I would probably wait until Black Friday. Target had pretty steep discounts around the holidays last year.
