Getting ready outfit

caiters91, on December 22, 2013 at 9:58 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21

What are you and your maids getting ready in? I'll probably either do a robe or large monogrammed shirt for myself, but is it really necessary to provide the bridesmaids with an outfit? It's just not in my budget to get them a nice gift and a robe, but I definitely would if I could afford it.

If you're getting them a nice gift, I don't think they will miss the robe much. I don't think people re wear those matching robes and shirts, after the wedding. I was in a wedding where the bride gave us the shirts and I never wear it.

I'm not giving mine anything to get ready in. My mom bought me a zip up hoodie from Target that says "bride" on it so ill probably wear that while getting ready. But I know they'll never wear it again and I'll waste my money so.

I got us all tank tops with rhinestone words on them to get ready in. They were a lot cheaper than robes, and we might wear them for bachelorette stuff too.

I'm not getting them anything to get ready in - like Callie said, it's basically a one-time outfit.

I'm getting ready in yoga pants and either a zip-up hoodie or large button-down. Nothing special.

You definitely don't need to get them this outfit. Tops should open in the front--button downs, or zip ups, and if they wear a tank underneath, it needs to be able to be removed without messing up hair.

You could ask them to wear something in a coordinating color--from your wedding colors or just something else fun. Why not let your MOH know your thoughts and delegate it to her to get it all set? Even if you don't have them do anything like that, just have them not wear anything that will mess up hair and make up when being pulled over their heads.

And if the sizing works out, you could wear a button down of FH's. I think that could be really cute in pics.

I'm going to wear a white button down and my mom and MOH are wearing black button downs and we'll all wear jeans. My matron and the three little girls are getting ready at home and joining us at the venue for pictures

I had planned on getting my maids something at first, but then I changed my mind. My sister bought me a robe that says "Bride." Like others have said, it would probably be a waste of money to get your maids anything.

I was lucky enough to get a bridal tank from Victoria secret, as a gift at my bridal shower. I decided to go the DIY route and make my bridesmaids their tank. I bought the iron on rhinestones at hobby lobby for $2.99 each. Then I bought the black tank shirts at Walmart for $3.99 each. I only had to make 4 tanks and it ended up costing $7 per girl. That beats the $25 each shirt at other places.

I'll probably get us matching tank tops or something - or I'll tell them to just bring their robe. Comfy pants! haha

I bought these cute towel wraps for all of us. They were like $10 each on clearance at Kohls. I would post a pic, but I'm on my phone right now.

We're going to buy some plain tank tops from target or Hobby Lobby and then when we get together, decorate them! I've used Hobby Lobby's fabric decorating stuff before and it works really well. We're not doing like swirly signs and stars everywhere lol, probably just saying "bridesmaid", "Mom"..etc. Smiley smile

I'm on the computer now, so here's the wraps I was talking about. I liked them cause they were something everyone can use again.

I ordered plain hoodies off OldNavy.com on clearance, I have 9 other tank tops that say bridesmaid on them...that I never wear. At least this way they have a better chance of using again. Plus it was october so tanks didn't reallly work Smiley smile it was a little chilly haha

We won't be coordinated. I'll probably wear pajama bottoms or yoga pants and a t-shirt with a loose neckline.

I'll wear yoga pants and maybe one of FH's button downs...I'm not worried about coordinating though!

I wont be getting anything for my girls to get ready in- I don't think that's necessary. I will be wearing leggings and one of FH's button up shirts. (Similar to what Lisa^ is wearing)

I want to get up some matching shirts. My FH Nana does monogramming, so I will prolly just get her to make me something! I think it will be cute for some pictures for us to be matching!
