Getting Ready outfit for the Bridal Party

Jenni, on September 26, 2019 at 1:41 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
What kind of outfit are you and your Bridal Party going to wear when getting ready for the big day? I'm trying to decide between floral robes or button up shirts or something else that is cute and great for photos.

I'm going to do robes, but not with bridesmaid/MOH on the back. I want them to be able to use them after the wedding too!

I'm planning on buying sweatpants that we can all match, and then a pack a shirts that we can just cut down the center once we're done with hair and makeup. I know my girls would never use robes even if they weren't 'bridal'

I let all my girls pick between 3 options. One was a cotton waffle print short robe, one was a long PJ shirt, and one was a short strapless romper. They were all black with white initials, so everyone looked cute & festive but they got to pick something they were comfortable in.Getting Ready outfit for the Bridal Party 1

My only advice would be pick something that can be unbuttoned or not taken off over your head so it doesn't affect hair and makeup!

I'm opting out but if not, I would get pjs because everyone could get a lot of use of of them, unlike silk robes

I am struggling with this. I have 5 girls plus myself and honestly this is something I don't want to really spend a lot of money on.

Daughter's wedding was in mid-January. She got really cute plaid flannel shirts in the wedding color and suggested the girls wear black leggings with them. They were nice quality, so really soft and comfy. Also, everyone was fully covered, so wearing them to get nails done and during hair & make-up, etc., wasn't a concern. Daughter and I wear our shirts all the time, and I've seen photos of her friends wearing theirs in the nine months since the wedding. They were something completely useful, but also cute & functional for the wedding. (Daughter received a short robe when she was a BM. She's nearly 6' tall, so it was pretty much indecent. She put it on over shorts and a tank to pose for photos and I'm pretty sure she threw it away as soon as she got home from the wedding.)

Thank you all so much for your thoughts. I think I'm going to go with a flannel shirt and maybe get it monogrammed. My wedding is in December and I think this will look so cute for the getting ready pictures while still being functional in the real world.

Daughter got hers at Old Navy. I think we bought them on Black Friday or during some other major fall promotion sale. They were a nice "womens cut" shirt, so they were comfortable, but flattering -- not too big and boxy.
