Getting Ready Attire

Taylor, on January 3, 2020 at 10:57 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

Hello Brides!
I am wanting some getting ready alternatives to robes. My wedding is in May.
I am OBSESSED with plaids, i know its not very "spring" of me, but wanted some other options as well.

Flannels would work. I debated these but ended up against them simply because it’ll be summer during my wedding and one of my girls gets warm easily. I’ll be doing PJ sets for my girls.

We're doing pajamas. They'll double for the night of the bachelorette and then we'll have them for the day of the wedding. I got us all soft, pink pajama pants and then they're each getting warm tops in their respective colors (their each wearing a different color for the wedding). My top will be a white tank, as one of my maids gave me a beautiful silk robe for Christmas that I'll now wear as well, and the robe plus a warm top will be way too much warmth for me.

Matching shorts and tanks if it's warm could be nice. But if it's still sort of chilly where you live, then long pants with matching t-shirts could be cute, too. Like little v-necks or little tanks.

They do sell light-colored plaids, too! Soft pinks and blues!

It still wont be too warm here. I like the idea of buttons or something that you dont have to pull over your head after your hair is done.

I think flannels/plaids would be fine if you don't think it'll get too hot while getting ready! I wouldn't worry too much about "not very spring". No one will really notice or care! Our color scheme is very fall but we are also having a May wedding. I'll be doing PJ sets since mine is in Florida and it will already be warm, but I like the idea of plaids!

I bought getting ready outfits for my bridesmaids, but I gave them 3 options. They were all from Etsy, all black, and all had their first initial. One was a cotton waffle print short robe, the second was a long PJ shirt, and the third was a strapless short romper. Most girls chose the PJ shirt! It still looked cute in pictures but they were able to choose something more their style. Getting Ready Attire 1

I bought my bridesmaids matching pajamas from target which were $21 I believe. They were button up and came with shorts and I believe they have them in floral print too. Getting Ready Attire 2

Target has some great options for under $30! I got all of my girls their own set of pajamas from there to wear because I am also obsessed with plaid and flannel. I gave my girls the option of pants or shorts since it'll start to get cold by my date- but I'd personally rather wear shorts. Here's the link to what I used to search.

I was going to buy my bridesmaids getting ready outfits but I ultimately decided against it because I think most of them would be uncomfortable in them. So instead I'm just going to ask everyone to wear a plaid button-up that they already have (which I'm sure they all already have). That way everyone will be coordinated, but will still be in something they actually like.
