Getting Ready 1.2

Do you guys think you absolutely have to find an MUA and hair stylist for your bridal party? Before our generation most people would get ready on their own and show up to the wedding ceremony ready to go or the bride’s house

    Definitely not a necessity.

Daughter did not because there wasn't a way to reasonably make the timing work (unless everyone wanted to start at 4 am...and they did not). The BMs got ready together at one of their nearby homes, helping each other with their hair and make-up. Daughter and I went to the HMUA's salon, then we all met up for a light lunch and pictures before leaving for the venue. The girls all looked gorgeous -- and very much like THEMSELVES -- both in person and in the photos/video. Recently, daughter's MOH was in another wedding where her HMU were done "professionally" and she doesn't look like herself. Hands down, she looked much more attractive for daughter's wedding....

I don't think it is a necessity either.

I'm the only one getting my hair professionally done, and my sister is good at makeup so she's gonna do mine. The rest of us will just get ready together because it would blow my budget otherwise!

I agree, hiring an artist is a personal choice!

It's not required at all, but I think it's more common.

Definitely not required, but it can be nice depending on your bridal party's preferences. I originally was going to get a former classmate to do cheap hair and makeup for everyone, but she was booked over a year in advance. I struggled with finding someone else, and settled on a local salon. It'll be nice, but it's spendy, so I offered my girls to make the appointments and pay for half of their hair costs since I think makeup is easier to do by yourself. Two took me up on the offer, one of those wanted to pay for her own makeup too, and the other girl is going to do it all herself.

I think unless you're really into make up it's probably not worth it. Also my party has mixed skin and hair types so we'd need two or three of them. Everyone knows how to make themselves look good and I trust that

It's not necessary but I'm considering doing an MUA for my bridesmaids if they are interested. They are all pretty good at doing their makeup.. all of them except myself LMAO!

Not a necessity, but why not? We may as well get the best for the big day.

Exactly! But, when everyone lives in separate places it’s all super hard to get together
