Getting our marriage license Westchester

Hi all. So my FH and I both live in NYC but we’re getting married in Rye, NY in a courthouse ceremony. How do I go about getting our marriage license? Do we have go to our local court house in NYC and then submit it to the courthouse in Rye and then the people at that office will send it back to NYC for them to submit our certificate. Or can we get it in Rye and then they’ll be the ones to give us our marriage certificate?

This is the technical stuff that confuses me so much.

Hi Future Mrs. T! Here's a Town of Rye page I found with all the info you need:
Town of Rye: Marriage Licenses, Ceremonies, & Certificates
It says you can get a license from any city/town in New York to marry anywhere in the state! You can also call their office directly to double-check.

Head's up: from what I understand the NYC license bureau is really backed up. Might be best to get it in Rye.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if you had to get it where you lived. Since it’s not mandatory to do so I definitely want to avoid that craziness.
