Getting my dress made

Future Mrs.Randolph, on October 11, 2020 at 12:23 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

I've wanted my dress to look a specific way and it isn't really something I want to compromise on. I've seen dresses that look like what I want on websites but they aren't really legit. So, my last resort is to get it made from scratch. Has anybody else gone this route or going this route. Who did you use? How much did you spend? How long did it take?

Hey if someone saw something similar on a legit website of my inspiration drop a link I'll be eternally gratefulSmiley love Smiley heart Smiley shame

A local seamstress or custom shop on Etsy would be a great place to look. Everything that I have read about those options has been positive. I'm also planning to go the custom route since I haven't found anything I love in a single premade dress.

Some brides have used Anomalie to create their custom dress with varying results! There are a few threads you can search for on Wedding Wire that talk about their experiences. Even if you choose not to go with Anomalie, you can create a mock-up of your dress on their website to see what it could potentially look like! I’m considering using it but am still determining exactly what I want.

Yes! I got my reception dress made by Anomalie. They did everything I asked

I didn't do this, but I think it would be fairly easy to find a dress like the one in the second photo and have a seamstress add a top that looks like the first one.

You know I thought the same thing too till I actually talked to a seamstress that specializes in wedding dresses and she said that is not recommended that you make such a drastic change to the neckline because the fabric never matches quite right

If you’re sure about what you want, I’d try anomalies.

That would make sense if you were just altering the neckline to add more fabric, but it looks like you'd be intentionally adding a different fabric anyway, so it wouldn't need to match!
