    YAY!!! Congrats!

First steps: Pick a season (e.g Fall 2020, summer 2021), a very rough size (0-50, 50-100, 100-150, 150-200, 200+) and a very rough budget (under 5K, 5-10, 10-15, etc). The start looking at venues that are available during that season, can accommodate the rough size of your crowd, and fit your budget (the last one is the toughest part!)

If you like a venue but it doesn’t fit your budget, you can discuss off-season discounts (if your dates are flexible), Friday / Sunday / weekday weddings, or other options.

Once you have a venue you like, book a date. You need a specific date before you can book other important vendors like your officiant, caterer, DJ, photographer.

The season and the venue can help you guys determine the wedding colors, the formality of the event, the florals / decor scheme. From there you can start building out all the small details like decor scheme etc.

Congratulations!! First steps by far - season and budget! Pick a budget that is reasonable for you (or whomever else is helping you) to actually put aside by the season you pick (Fall 2020, or whatever). And remember to stop and smell the roses along the way - you're engaged!!

I started with budget and guest count. We picked the date based on venue pricing, different venues have different pricing depending on the season and month! So once we found our dream venue we decided on the season/date!

Then working on getting a lot of quotes!

    Congrats!!!! 🍾 🎉

First steps that’ll help other stuff fall into place: 1) Set a budget, 2) Estimate a guest list size, 3) Choose a theme and/or venue.

You don’t NEED a theme but if you want one (modern, rustic, boho, Game of Thrones, Peter Pan), it’s way easier & cheaper to choose a venue that already matches your theme.

The big three: guest list, budget, venue!
