Getting Married with Invisalign

Kendra, on August 2, 2022 at 8:59 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
Curious as too if anybody has experience or knows anybody who’s previously gotten married with Invisalign. So unfortunately I won’t be close to finishing before my wedding and my ortho has offered to remove my attachments before the wedding but wondering if it’s worth all the hassle. When I’m wearing my Invisalign it’s definitely noticeable as I have a lot of attachments but without it in it’s not too bad to the untrained eye. Wondering if it’s worth going through the process to get them removed only to have to get them all put back on or just say screw it and go a night without wearing them. Thanks!

I'm not sure what the attachments looks like, so a picture would help with context. Although even without seeing, I'd be inclined to have them removed. These pictures will be "for a lifetime" and I wouldn't want my attention drawn towards them in intimate, close set pictures! If they're not visible to the untrained eye, I would think about how YOU feel seeing them in pictures as nobody else will probably notice.

I did Invisalign in the way you described. For my wedding, my dentist easily removed the nubs (saw?), cleaned, and buffed up my teeth for pics. Some of my fav pics are where my smile is nice, big, and straight. My dentist easily added new attachments after, and restarted trays. She had a plan before we started. My suggestion: bring ear plugs, and remove those bumps for your pictures.

The real pain was the actual head pain throughout the 5-month planning process. I was definitely grumpier each time I put in a new set. After two more refinements because it was not quite right, I am finally finishing my 2-month retainer period, by my 1-year anniversary.

Thanks for the input! I personally don’t mind the attachments physically on me but I know in close ups they will probably be visible. I know how much I hated getting them on and how rough they were at first. I’ll talk to my ortho about what he thinks is best. Feeling my smooth teeth might make it hard to get back into it 😊
