Getting married in Punta Cana, April 2020

Hey all!
I am getting married April 20th in Punta cana. We fly down April 18th out of the states. What are all you’re opinions on traveling to the DR with the coronavirus. Am I crazy for still wanting to go as long as there is not a major out break the the DR?

I don’t think that’s crazy at all! There aren’t any outbreaks there so just be cautious and keep good hygiene and I think it will be fine! I haven’t heard anything about the Caribbean being dangerous to travel to yet. I hope you have a great time!! 🌴

The one thing to seriously consider is, are you comfortable staying in DR if there are travel restrictions put in place and/or there is a quarantine? Would you also be comfortable receiving treatment in DR if you were to be exposed? Personally, I wouldn’t because I couldn’t afford to be stuck somewhere for possibly weeks and second, I don’t know if I trust their healthcare system. My hunch is there will be more travel bans to come, especially for international travel (all travel from Europe into the US was banned just this evening).
