It is never ever to early to plan. You should start looking at venues and securing your vendors now. Popular vendors are usually booked 1-2 years in advance so they may be hard to get. I would wait about 8/10 months out before asking your bridal party unless it’s a destination wedding.

I agree with PP, go ahead and start looking for and at venues/vendors because they usually book up quickly, especially even more so due to covid having played havoc with a lot of people's wedding plans.

In regards to asking people to be in the wedding party, the earliest I would ask anyone is a year out.

Start looking now and booking ASAP, like PP’s said most good vendors get booked 1-2 years out. Don’t ask people to stand up in your wedding party until like 6-8 months before your wedding.

Yes, agree with PP. Start looking now, making appointments to visit, and securing the place you absolutely love. Venues, in a non-pandemic year, get booked up early and right now many people are planning way ahead to try and avoid any limitations.

I found the WW checklist worked really well for me in when to start thinking/planning/booking items. So try starting there after you enter in your wedding date.

When are you getting married? Our wedding is March of 2023 and all of our big vendors are booked and our wedding party has been picked out and notified. We wanted them to be included in the venue process and have time to save to travel to the wedding so we asked them in May of this year. We booked vendors starting in August

The very first thing you should do is set a budget, then secure a venue and date.

We haven’t picked the date yet but the year is 2023 and we’re gonna wait to start doing stuff next year and figure out stuff.

If your venue is one that would be sold out quick, maybe jump In and grab it if you have that money now. Relax though, one of the perks of a long engagement is time to enjoy it! As for bridesmaids, you can ask them whenever you want. If you want to start looking for things and have their assistance, it'd be good to have them now. Take your time, though, and be sure that these are the people you want standing by you on your special day!

My wedding is April 2023. I started this month looking for venues and I picked my bridal party back in July this year because I'm having a destination wedding. The early you know location and date the more time your guest have to make preparations to be able to make it. Also once you have a venue you can now have a timeline of when everything else needs to get done and paid.

I'm also getting married in 2023! Congratulations! We already have started speaking to vendors. I think for the big ones, venue, photographer, and caterer if your venue requires you pick from a list.

A big reason we started looking is because of winter. December-early March we aren't really able to go see venues and meet with people due to road conditions. So that would only give us 13 months in advance if we waited for that to go over. Planning now allows for travel, tastings, etc before bad weather.
And honestly, it's your day. There's no right or wrong way to go about it. The longer you plan the longer you have to tailor the day to be perfect for you and your partner.

I’m getting married in April of 2023. We already booked our venue in July. We pushed our wedding into 2023 so we wouldn’t have to rush or fight for vendors. We also already booked our wedding planner and our photographer and videographer as those were my top 3 priorities and I wanted specific vendors and venue. As for bridesmaids I haven’t asked anyone yet as I’m not too sure as to how many I want yet. My fiancé already knows who he wants to be his groomsmen though. I plan on making proposal boxes and asking by this coming up February. Our engagement shoot is scheduled for this coming up January and we plan to send out save the dates by this coming up April. Our wedding is kinda a destination wedding as majority of our friends and family are out of state and will have to travel to Florida so we’re sending the save the dates way in advance so they can plan accordingly. Our cake tastings are scheduled for this coming up November. I personally love how I can space everything out and take my time Smiley smile I’m also very type A and love to be ahead of the game and on top of things.

I agree, never too early week out venues. I myself just asked my maid of honor this week. I feel like you can casually browse until around spring next year, then you need to hit the ground running.

We are getting married April 23,2023, I might have jumped the gun but found the wedding dress I wanted on sale and let’s just say I had to buy it. Lol But I am having problems with finding the right venue? Also since my fiancé and I are paying for everything I not sure how to go about doing my budget? Any recommendations would be great.
