Hello my Chicago friends! I wanted to start a fun chat with all of us! I was wondering where are you getting married? Navy Pier? Ship? A beautiful spot in the suburbs? What from here are you incorporating into your wedding? Fannie May Chocolates? Sox or Cubs? Hawks? Garretts Popcorn?

I have lived here my whole life (24 years) but never been a city girl so I am not incorporating anything Chicago into my theme, but we are getting married at Chandlers in Schaumburg on there beautiful patio over looking the greens. And then partying it up at the Seville in Streamwood. We are having evrything hot pink and black with hits of Cinderella. I can't wait!

What are you doing?

I've booked a venue in Noah's event venue in Naperville for July 2019. Doing a prohibition theme, over 4th of July weekend. Having a hard time picking colors!

    The seville is gorgeous! Congrats!

I grew up in Orland Park, went to college in Eureka IL (the middle of nowhere), I now live with my fiance in bolingbrook, he's lived in bolingbrook his wholle life.

I always wanted a cubs themed wedding, but my fiance isnt a big sports fan he roots for the cubbies because of me. So we first bonded over movies and tv on our first date, we love going to and watching movies, very big film buffs, Im a film and tv free lance writer on the side. its my passion! So i came up with the best theme for us, which he loves!

Theme: Old Hollywood vintage movie themed

Our ceremony and reception will be at Parmount theater's Meyer Ballroom in Aurora.

Getting married on Saturday December 12th, 2020

Our colors are red & black, with gold and rhinestone accent

Decor will consist of red roses, pearls, glitter, sparkle, black ostrich feathers and vases, movie poster signs will be the table numbers. Each table will be a different romantic/classic film.

Wedding favors will be free tickets for a Broadway show at Paramount theater, if wedding is at Paramount.

It's been a few days since someone answered, but I don't get on here much so here's my contirbution:

My fiance is from the south-side (35th and Western!) and I'm originally from the NW suburbs. I've alaways DREAMED of a tent wedding on Navy Pier but they stopped doing them :/ so we're doing the Marquis Tent at Oak Brook Hills Resort March 23, 2019. We don't really have a theme or colors, just lots of white and some greenery.

Between now and getting married we're moving back to the west suburbs from Denver and buying a house so I really should be looking for a house, instead I'm having fun wedding planning!

We're getting married at the Seville and having our reception there too! I LOVE their beautiful staircase! As of now I'm not incorporating anything Chicago in our wedding, but that might change lol. Our colors are Navy Blue, Burgundy, and Gold

We are both not from Chicago but transplants from Seattle and Ireland. We are getting married downtown at a restaurant (Formentos) on Randolph in the West loop that has the iconic Chicago brick and big ballroom with chandeliers and windows overlooking the street. He wants to incorporate something that is a nod to his Irish heritage so our favors are a shortbread cookie with his county crest on it. But he also considers himself a Chicago-an after living here 20 years so I am looking for ideas on something to include in the reception that reflects “Chicago” just haven’t come up with the perfect idea yet 🤔

I'm getting married at Starved Rock. I live in Chicago and would have loved a Chicago wedding but the prices are just TOO much given that we have like 130 people coming.

Born and raised in the far north burbs (think Six Flags) and live just over the boarder in Kenosha now. Most of my family, aside from my patents and brother, and all of his family are closer to the city so to make it easier on them we chose Venuti's in Addison Nov. 9, 2019. Beautiful marble everywhere, a grand marble staircase in the front, amazing food, and a top shelf open bar. Portillo's beefs are one of the options for out late night snack so that's definitely happening but right now that's the only really Chicago thing, something Blackhawks might sneak its way in since we both play hockey and love our Hawks but I haven't found it yet.

We are getting married at Century Memorial Chapel at Naper Settlement and our reception is at the Pavilion at Mesón Sabika. Both venues are in Naperville which will be convenient for us and our guests.
