Getting married 8/21/21

LOVETTE, on July 24, 2020 at 11:52 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16

Covid has stopped my planning process. I've been browsing but have not secured anything yet.

I understand that feeling, but if you are set on that date you need a venue ASAP. 2021 is a busy year with all the postponement. All vendors will book fast and many are already booked. Good luck!

I would say that normally, you'd be totally fine and even right on track, but I agree with PP about this. Seems like everyone is postponing to 2021 now due to COVID, so I'd try to secure a date ASAP. Good luck! ❤️

I’m getting married 09/25/2021 and have already had a lot of vendors tell me that they are booked for my date, or even fully booked for the whole month. A lot of couples are postponing to 2021 and moving with their vendors to new dates so I’d recommend getting everything locked down as soon as possible. Luckily, we already have our venue, caterer, event rentals, DJ/MC, and photographer. I’m having a lot of trouble finding an available hair and makeup artist though

Agree with the ladies above. If you really want a set date book the venue ASAP, everything is filling up like crazy. I'm getting married in May and had everything booked precovid and I'm so glad. Wish you lots of luck! Smiley smile

I agree with everyone else, if you really want that date you need to be booking now. So many people have postponed to 2021 already. We were originally supposed to get married August 2021, had all the venue and all the major vendors booked and everything, but just pushed it out to August 2022 because of everything that's going on.

You may want to start booking sooner rather than later...there are a lot of couples, including us, who are rescheduling for next year due to Covid.

As someone who had compromise on a date, I would try to book things as soon as possible. With Covid forcing couples to postpone their weddings, 2021 dates are filling up fast. We were only able to look at one venue during the closures & that's what we got, we couldn't afford to wait.

I'm getting married 8/28/21 and I thought I had time too, but after booking the venue in early March, we heard start booking more vendors because of all of this year's cancellations. So we added the photographer, florist, decor, officiant and lighting. Still need a DJ and cake, as well as a dress, hair and makeup, but I'm feeling okay.

As many others mentioned here, if you want to get married on 2021 you'll need to start booking your venue and vendors soon. Availability will be lower than usual with all the postponed and rescheduled weddings from this year. Best of luck!

I’m getting married in October 2021, and we started booking things as soon as people were back in the offices to respond to us. 2021 has many more weddings than it normally would due to so many being postponed from 2020. Vendors are booking quickly! For instance, our photographer is completely booked through early next fall already. It’s incredible that we got her before our date was booked too! The majority of our vendors are booked for all of next summer already. That’s actually the main reason we’ve been so focused on planning as much as we can as soon as possible.
If that date is important to you and you want specific vendors, don’t wait! Book your venue ASAP so you can get your date locked in and start talking to other important vendors for your day.

We had to settle for a date a few days after the one we originally wanted. If you're a little more open then maybe you can find a date with a good deal, ours is on Sunday now and ended up way cheaper than what we would have paid.

I do know Fridays are generally cheaper than Saturdays. When we went to look at our venue, we told them the date we wanted and were told it was taken, but that we were open to changing it if the price was good. Needless to say, switching to Sunday saved us over $2,000.
