I’m getting married in FL but live in NY. I want to get married here in NY first but not sure when is a good time to do it.
what do you all think? I’m getting married in Nov of 2020.

So you're not getting married in FL, you want to have a vow renewal there? Why not just get married in FL? I suppose you could do it any time before the vow renewal, but I would be up front with your guests about the fact that you're already married.

I don’t know why you would have to get married in NY first. We’re going to FL from NJ to get married, and they have a pretty easy policy of getting a marriage license if you’re out of state. There’s no waiting period, no tests required and can be obtained anywhere in the state no matter where you’re getting married. Unless there’s a reason you need to marry beforehand, seems like extra work to me.

Hey Christina!
If you want to get legally married before you travel to Florida, you can really pick any time at all. Are there any dates that are special to you and your SO that you would like to be your official wedding anniversary date?
I would agree with Caytlyn when she said that you should mention to your guests that you are having a destination vow renewal so that they all understand that you and your FS will be already married.
