Getting makeup done at sephora.

Ashley, on January 23, 2017 at 7:38 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Hey what do you guys know about getting your makeup done at sephora. I want to get it done for my engagement pictures but someone told me not to. Thank you in advance for your opinions and suggestions.

I got it done there for my e-pics. I enjoyed it. You just have to spend $50 and it's free. Idk how much they charge if you don't buy anything. She even gave me a list off all the products she used. I would recommend it!

It really depends, find someone with skills! I'm obsessed with Sephora and from my experience some girls there just like cosmetics but really don't have the artistry to do make up on someone else. Some girls are really good at one thing but not good at something else (One girl did my face amazing but had no idea to do eyebrows). It's totally worth it if you can find someone who has skills. I would maybe call and ask or watch them do make up on someone else or do a trial run before your official e-pic makeup session. But you have to either have the makeover coupon as VIB/VIB Rouge or spend $50 in merchandise which is not hard to do!

I would recommend Mac over Sephora if you're choosing to go that route. But I would really suggest going to a salon/spa and getting it done by a licensed cosmetologist.

I recommend MAC just by personal exp, usually most MAC employees have MUA background and/or puruse that on the side. @Future is right sometimes ppl work there because they just love make up.

Weight your options and even see if they have samples of their work

I have used MAC a few times they charge $60 but i loved my face

I had a great experience getting mine done at sephora for epics! Plus the $50 you spend is really just getting some of the products they use (including fake lashes for me) so totally worth it IMO. When you book it, tell them you want someone with experience doing makeup for photography.

I got mine done at Sephora for my engagement pictures. It really just depends on the person you get. My makeup came out good but not great. It was good for the occasion. I felt like she over-did it. The makeup showed well in pictures. I would still use Sephora in the future for minor events.

Try to book with someone who does their own make up in a way you want on you. I don't like Mac purely because they tend to be heavier and that's not the look i want, even though they are skilled. I found my person at Sephora by going in for a few mini sessions where they just do eyes or lips or foundation and then picking my favorite!

I talked to the salon at Ulta and they were very reasonable. They even do hair and makeup trials. But they didn't have an appointment available for the time I needed. Good luck.
