Getting emotional

Hahaha - yes, it's fun looking through songs and planning out. I hope you find the one that's right for you!

We had selected "Stand by Me", but realized that 1) it's actually more challenging to dance to, and 2) when I asked my partner why he picked it he just said "well, it's one of those songs you hear at weddings." I asked if it was cool to change it, and we actually went with kind of an unusual song that's just special to us - "She Is" by Ne-Yo ft. Tim McGraw. It describes our love story and just makes us crack up with each other. All that to say - pick the song that *feels* right to you, doesn't have to be the one that *sounds* right.

It's possible you could ask the DJ to "fade out" on the song if it's too long - that's what we are requesting for our father-daughter/ mother-son dances so that they don't drag on.

No, I haven't gotten emotional at all. I can understand why others do and it's normal.

My fiancé is a music guy and has a song reference for every situation that ever comes up. I swear you can say any random thing and he can come up with a song reference for it and if he can’t he just makes one up. LOL So he is in charge of music for our wedding. He already has a crazy long list that he adds songs to whenever he thinks of them. I’m not sure how he is going to narrow it all down. Our wedding is short only 3 hours long.
The other day I told him my idea for using a vinyl record of the song we do our first dance to for our guest book. I said that is if we do a first dance. His response? “We are in our early forties we can dance if we want to” and sent me the link to the song The Safety Dance by Men Without Hats. These are the random song suggestions I get. He makes me laugh for sure.

Yes!!! Everything has been making me cry since after the proposal.

DH and I had a thing we'd do ... almost once a day? ... the entire time we were engaged.

That was look at each other, say, "GUESS WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?"

And the answer was: "We're getting MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARIEEEEEEEEEED."

Sometime this involved a kiss or two, sometimes just giggling like very small children.

You can imagine how this has evolved since.

So, yeah, we got emotional, we just made it into a silly thing to cope.

Same! One night we were picking up pizza and Blessed by Thomas Rhett came on shuffle on FH phone and I started to cry and said "THIS IS OUR FIRST DANCE SONG." Everytime I hear it I cry happy tears. So I know on our wedding day those tears will be flowing hahahah.

Same! FH and I pick our songs and any time I listen to our first dance song (Helium by Sia) I get super teary and I know I"m going to cry so much on wedding day! Luckily, I got my waterproof mascara yesterday. Congrats to everyone! It's so exciting
