Getting Discouraged

Jennica, on February 17, 2020 at 9:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Anyone having issues with getting responses for possible venues? We’ve picked out a venue we like for cocktail hour and reception but the space they had to host the ceremony was rather small. We loved how inclusive they’re packages were for the price and decided it was our best option for the reception and made the decision we wanted to host the ceremony somewhere else. We’ve now reached out to SEVERAL other venues and are not getting any responses. I’ve lost count of the churches we’ve reached out to and not a single one of them have responded to our calls or emails. Is anyone else having this issue? It’s making me want to cry!!

Wow. No, I had the opposite problem once I called places to make inquiries they would keep calling and sending me stuff in the mail. If it’s a church maybe you can drop in. They’re open all the time. For popular venues I’d keep calling. Not Necessarily leaving messages every time but calling until you get someone and some answers and when you finally do get someone ask allllll your questions. Get all your $$$ ###s. But don’t give up love. Be persistent.

Don't give up! I know it's a lot cause I'm right in the middle of it being a month away. We looked at 8 venues and lost count of how many I actually emailed and tried to contact. Just keep going and you'll find something that fits you and your style as well. Keep calling and emailing!! You got this!!

YES! I had this problem too. It was the worst. And I don't wish it on anybody. If you emailed, try calling. If you called, try calling again and then emailing. I'm still annoyed that 2 places chose to not get back to me.

Yes! I had a lot of venues not call back or respond to emails (including the church I attend and am an active member of!). Just keep being persistent. Also keep in mind with churches that a lot of times they won't allow it unless you're a church member. Our back up venue ended up being a beautiful park that allowed ceremonies in their rose garden and it was free. So think outside the box for that!

When we were considering having our wedding at a church, I found quite a number of them were very bad at getting back to me and also had far too rigid rules and guidelines that turned us off. Other venues simply just didn't get back to us, didn't respond to phone calls and we decided these were not the kind of places we wanted to be wed at, so we moved on in our search.

Yes! That’s what we were starting to say too and now we’re getting to the point where we’re running out of options because we’ve called/emailed every one! I finally got an answer from one we’ve called and emailed too many times to count. Fingers crossed that they work out!
