Getaway Car - Are cans still a thing?

So my FH has this beautiful old 70's ford truck. From day one I decided that I wanted to write "Just Married" in the window and have cans hanging from the back. We have a short 15 minute drive from our church to the reception venue. Do people still hang cans from the back of cars? Anyone else doing this?

We didn't have a getaway car. Everything took place at the same location, plus, we got married across the country from where we live, so neither one of us even had our car there.
My MIL did get a window marker and decorated DH's car windows after she got back into town while we were on our honeymoon. But there were no cans.

We decorated my friend's car with cans on her wedding departure. :-)

Eh imma slap a decal on my Escape and call it a day. However those on an old truck would be awesome!

The only time I actually saw this at a wedding, it was more for show leaving the venue. A couple of us followed them down the road to a parking lot maybe .25 miles away and took the cans off, so they could actually drive away to their hotel

They did it using an old mustang/muscle car and was super cute!

The only time I've seen it was cans tied to the back of an antique car (and I don't think they were going far, maybe a block or two in a residential neighborhood).
