Get ready outfits for pregnant bridemaids?

Bride2Be2018, on June 27, 2017 at 1:34 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 99

Question for those that have been pregnant because I want them to feel comfortable. I have 1 bridesmaid who will be last trimester at my wedding and another one who is planning on being pregnant as well. I was just going to get the girls simple blackor grey tank tops that say bridesmaid on them to wear for getting ready. Would you feel comfortable in this during your last trimester or would you rather have a tshirt/non sleeveless? TI

ETA:I'm asking people who have been pregnant whether they felt more comfortable in sleeveless or with sleeves during last trimester. I'm not asking whether people should wear their own clothes or not but thanks.

Update: I'm just going to ask the pregnant bridemaid(s) what they would prefer. Thanks for those that gave helpful adviceSmiley smile

I'm giving shirts to my bridemaids @Jessie so are you implying to have all the other bridesmaids in the shirts and the pregnant ones wear whatever?

My best friend preferred to have a flowy tee shirt dress in her last trimester.

I would ask your friend. Each person might be different and you want to make sure you get a size she's comfortable with.

I give you this advice, but I'm also team "let them wear their own clothes."

Actually I'm saying let them all pick their own outfit. I'd be really annoyed as a BM to have to wear something that hadn't been through the wash in my normal sensitive skin soap. Also, when you are pregnant, you just want to be comfortable. I wore a bra and sweat pants at home, and mat tops when I went out.

@Jessie you sounds like a really fun BMSmiley smile We have all worn matching outfits for get ready photos in each other's weddings. I wasn't asking about whether or not people should wear their own clothes I was asking what style a pregnant person would feel most comfortable in.

I wore pyjamas to get ready as a BM. I'm a fucking bitch in the morning and usually makeup call was some ungodly hour especially since the rehearsal dinner usually was a mini-party the night before. If someone tried to take my picture while I got ready as a BM, a camera would have gotten broken. Pictures were only ever taken once everyone was bright eyed, bushy tailed, made up and dressed proper.

Honestly, why? Why would they want a special thing to get ready in?

@B2B - no one can for sure tell you what a pregnant woman would want to wear. Not all pregnancies are the same and people will be comfortable on different things.

If your BM is going to be in her third trimester, a) she may not make your wedding; b) she may not want to get ready with you ( she may be exhausted); c) she will be uncomfortable as fuck.

@Jessie yeah I'm not doing a first look so people won't even start getting ready until noon and then pics not until 2 or 3 so no cranky morning pics.

@Jacks at all of their weddings we have worn get ready shirts. It's what we do in our group.

Also Tank tops are going to be very hard to get off once everyone has their hair done, and probably more so for someone who is heavily pregnant. I would at least rethink the tank top situation and I would DEFINTIELY consult your BMs to see what they may want or be most comfortable in. Especially someone in their third trimester.

@Colleen we wore matching tank tops for my little sisters wedding and they were easy to get off actually with hair and makeup done. Don't disagree with the just asking her part.

It doesn't matter. Your friend who's pregnant is going to be exhausted. In the third trimester, you are not sleeping, you catch sleep whenever and wherever you can. You are in pain, you can barely eat, and walking is a chore.

@Jessie yes this is all true. She will be one or the last to come to get ready if she is able to make it. How is part C supposed to be helpful? Are you suggesting something or just commenting to comment?

Things with buttons in the front are best since it won't mess up anyone's hair or makeup.

I haven't been pregnant, but knowing my friends that have been they tend to be more comfortable in flowy larger tops.
