I'm stuck (or maybe indecisive, lol!). My wedding is in two months and I need to finalize my menu. Specifically, I need to decide on gelato flavors that go well with the cake flavors we've ordered. I'll have around 100 guests, so am planning on picking 4-5 flavors.
The cake flavors are:
Chocolate spice cake (cinnamon and nutmeg) with nuts and espresso buttercream
Lemon cake with lemon curd and blueberry compote with vanilla buttercream
Almond cake with cranberry compote and vanilla buttercream
Browned butter rosemary cake with vanilla buttercream
I'm getting married in Maine and wanted to stick with classic fall flavors. Dinner will also be a very heavy meal. The gelato place is amazing and can literally do any flavor/combination. They're kind of like Ben and Jerry's and have dairy free options too.
I wanted to have seasonal flavors that could go with my cakes or stand alone and also be crowd pleasers. I'd like to have one sorbetto/non-dairy, one chunky, one chocolate based.
Here's a list of what flavors I've been toying with, but feel free to suggest others.
Lemon rosemary sorbetto
Dark chocolate noir sorbetto
Wild blueberry sorbetto
Champagne sorbetto
Coconut mint chip gelato (dairy free)
Fall in Bourbon county: pumpkin gelato with cinnamon pecans and caramel
Vanilla cranberry swirl
Vanilla, cranberry swirl, and chocolate truffles
Cranberry chocolate
Molasses peppermint **(I'd really love to have this if possible)
French kiss: mint gelato with crepe pieces and a chocolate swirl
Mint brookie: chocolate mint base with brownie and cookie dough
Sweet Resurgam (one of the company's signature flavors, it's very popular although not a particular favorite of mine): Roasted almond, burnt sugar, chocolate chips, caramel
Dark side of the Moon: dark chocolate coffee gelato
Which 4 or 5 would you pick? Would there be another flavor you'd prefer to see?
