Geez... MIL can be such a drama queen sometimes...

yadayada, on December 9, 2009 at 9:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

Overall I have a very good relationship with my MIL (especially compared to some of the horror stories I've read on here!) HOWEVER sometimes she can be so freakin' dramatic. Right before the wedding I posted about how she was literally crying because she felt I excluded her from wedding planning (even though I was planning long distance and did most everything from my computer, and when we were in town we took her to pretty much every appointment.) Anyway, so we got our wedding pics back a few weeks ago and I sent her a link to the proofs the same day. A lot of our friends were asking me when they could see some of our pictures so I decided to sift through all 1,248 of them and pick about 80 or so highlights to post on Facebook. 90% of the pictures I posted are of me & H, with quite a few of those being of me ONLY, looking fab :-) I included a couple of pics of friends at the reception since I knew those friends were on FB and were the ones who had asked us about the pics. Although all my family (including extended relatives) are also on FB, I didn't include any family photos except for ONE of me with immediate family, mostly 'cause it came out awesomely from an artistic/photographic standpoint. I didn't know that MIL had facebook, so I didn't make much effort to put a bunch of pictures of her up since I didn't think she'd ever see the online photo album, plus I just wanted it to be mostly pictures of me & H. Anyway, it turns out she IS on FB and H sent her a link to the photos. Apparently she was "EXTREMELY HURT AND UPSET" that I "excluded his family" (her words!) from my wedding album! Um, what??!! It's not like this is our official wedding album, it's just some crap I posted online for my friends to see! Why does everything have to be so dramatic with her?? Geez!!!

I'll probably just go back and add a pic... the thing is, I don't know why she didn't just say "oh do you mind adding a pic of our family to your album" as opposed to making all those dramatic statements about being excluded.

LOL! Ladylee you crack me up.

Julybride, the issue was resolved, thankfully they volunteered to ship it to us! I posted a longer version of the update a couple weeks ago in the orginal post https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/suggestions-on-what-to-do-with-strange-huuuuge-wedding-gift/34715a46bd550158.html

(you have to scroll down to the bottom)

I took a picture of the painting and it's in my profile under Inspiration Board if you want to see it.

Oh for sure....when I post up my pics, it will be mostly of me and my hubby...I wonder why ppl think we would pay a photographer just to have multiple pictures of them alone or with their lil family w/o the bride and groom in it. That was my problem with my peeps. It's not a free family portrait session....I am including a lot of pics with one of everyone that I have...but the ones with a lot of pics of the same people...nope...I'm not catering to other people's vanity....Actually all of the other brides I know, when they post pics it is pretty much all about them. That's the way it should go.

Wow thats dramatic. What ridiculous behavior. I could see that happening to me if I dont put up enough photos so im going to be careful of that now lol. Hopefully she'll get over it soon it was your wedding so of course most photos on FB will be you and your husband

No offense..but she needs a job or more work, or hobbies/ something more to occupy her time with to prevent her from worrying about such trivial issues...way bigger issues in the world than the makeup of the pics in your facebook album! I don't mean to take away from the importance of your wedding pictures though! Sure they are gorgeous!
