Gauze Runners on Round Tables

Celine, on August 30, 2021 at 1:14 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5
Hi there! We are having round tables with white tablecloths at our reception and I’m considering making dark teal (our wedding color) gauze/cheesecloth table runners for them. I’m not sure if it will look weird though. Most photos I see of gauze table runners are on rectangle tables with no tablecloths. Has anyone ever done something like this before? And if so, do you have photos? Thank you in advance!!

I didn’t do this ( we did gauze/cheesecloth runners on our rectangular wood farmhouse tables and just the white tablecloths on our rounds), but I have a personal dislike for the look of runners on round tables generally, since I feel like they fight the circular shape of the table and awkwardly cut it in half. That said, if you like the look of runners on round tables, I think the gauze would be a really pretty option! Here’s a couple of images a quick search pulled up: Gauze Runners on Round Tables 4

Alternatively, have you thought of doing dark teal napkins instead of (or in addition to) the runner to get that beautiful pop of color? I love the way richly colored napkins pop against white linens!

Thank you for sharing!! In these photos the runners definitely look great! Gauze looks so pretty on wood and linen. Unfortunately though our tables are just folding plastic round tables with polyester white cloths. The more I think about it the more I’m thinking it will look weird lol. I’m mainly just trying to find a pretty & cheap way to incorporate dark teal into our table decor 😊 thank you for your help!

I’m glad I’m not the only one! I also don’t love the look of runners on round tables. I’m just trying to think of a way to incorporate dark teal into our decor (without breaking the bank). I love your idea of the napkins! That would probably be pretty cheap and look good. Thank you!!

You should definitely consider teal napkins! we also had white round tables (white tablecloths covering plastic tables) and we did blush pink napkins to match our colors, as well as gold chargers for another pop of color!
