Garter or No Garter

Analie, on March 5, 2020 at 9:48 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

My fiance and I have decided not to have a garter and bouquet toss. Our guests are already married and we do not like the meaning behind it. However, I am trying to decide if I should wear one on our wedding night. I am torn between spending about 15 dollars more on a garter to let him have his moment and saving the money because it is something that I will only wear once just like my wedding dress.

What should I do?

If you’re not having a garter toss or bouquet toss, I would just skip wearing one. I don’t think it’s that important🤷🏻‍♀️

I would skip wearing one too if you aren’t gonna toss it or anything

I’m not doing a garter toss and I’m going to wear one. There is one you toss and one you wear. You don’t toss your main garter, it’s usually a set. I think it’s sexy and I’ll wear one that night for my husband for sure

We aren't having a garter toss either. But I'm wearing a garter with my FH's favorite college team on it for him. It also has our wedding date on it. So it's more so for my FH than anyone else and no one is going to see it besides me and him. And maybe whoever is helping me get dressed lol

What is the point of a garter? What's his "moment" going to be? If you aren't doing a garter toss its completely unnecessary IMO (and probably uncomfortable to wear too).

For me a garter is a completely unnecessary expense and has zero purpose for our wedding. I 100% doubt my FH is looking forward to taking an elastic band off my leg and will be disappointed if there isn't one there. If you know your FH is excited about it, then go for it, but if he's never mentioned it at all I would be surprised if it was something he was expecting.
