Garden Venue or Florist Recreation?

Sydney, on July 25, 2019 at 9:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

I'm actively looking for a garden venue in Massachusetts. Since I live on Cape Cod, I'd prefer to stay on Cape for my wedding, but there aren't a lot of options for a garden ceremony.

I've looked outside of the Cape and only found 2 garden venues with actually luscious gardens, but the reception halls look unappealing...

Should I ask florists if they could create a garden ceremony? Settle on flowered arches and fixtures?

Or should I look outside my desired area and settle on garden venues with reception halls I don't really care for?

That is your choice that budget and priority will determine. The most important factor will be your budget. Can your budget accommodate a florist recreation in your desired area and a dream venue outside of your desired area? Also, which is more important to you: dream venue or desired area? Deciding those two things will lead you to your decision. Good Luck!

There are some companies that rent plants too, now sure if those would have any garden options but worth checking out

What you can do first is get quotes from florists in your area to see how much it would be to "create" a garden feel at a venue in your desired location. Depending on what your budget is, you can see if that would work (both price and their vision). If not then I would look at other garden locations outside your area.

    Good Luck!

Also I feel your dilemma, I wanted a chateau venue but Portland has absolutely no chateaus or European venues, one in Washington but they weren’t even doing weddings this year. I’m already planning on booking a European venue in California or Texas for our vow renewals lol.

I'd go for garden venues out of your area . I think florists trying to make it more garden like would cost an arm and a leg - unless you've the budget for it, that is!

My Budget will mainly focus on venue, florist, and guest accommodations. Most of my vendors I'm close to (since I work within event industry) who are willing to give me discounts/exchanges, my dress and other attire are covered. '

I love what you said, Brooke, about creating a garden feel rather than a full on garden. I want a garden feel overall, so a couple of arches, platformed flower arrangements and petaled walkway may be a more convenient option so it seems. Especially if I want to stay on Cape.

The thought of hearing you say recreate a luscious garden just scares me because that will probably be an astronomical cost with the amount of florals, rental, and labor. I would look outside your area for a location that could have both the garden and a nice hall.
