Games and Activites during 'Cocktail' Hour

Karin, on August 3, 2016 at 1:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

I'm having a small backyard wedding and was planning to have a cocktail hour inside the home and on the other side of the lawn while the reception is being setup. Does anyone have any ideas for activities for the guests while they wait?

We are already planning on a DIY photo booth or possibly renting one

Appetizers and cocktails are all people need. Adults can handle the rest.

Not a huge fan of lawn games for a wedding. As a guest I probably wouldn't want to play anything in a dress, etc.

Adults will be perfectly fine with music and drinking, as GymRat said.

Alcohol, appetizers and music. Cocktail hour is for socializing and that can be achieved without games.

Definitely appetizers and cocktails Smiley smile

Lawn games are also really popular! A photo booth could be fun too, but honestly I normally hit up the photo booth later in the night once I have a few drinks under my belt Smiley smile

My venue offers giant jenga during cocktail hour. Otherwise if it wasn't offered I don't think I would go through the hassle to provide lawn games. They also have a bonfire in the evening for smores. Again not something I would have done unless it was offered with the venue. I've told some guests this and they are already pretty excited about it though.
