My fiance (who is Caucasian) and I will be getting dressed in my culture's traditional clothing halfway through the open floor dancing and performing a song in my language for our guests. My side of the family always request us to sing this duet whenever we have a family party so it'll be a fun time for my family as well as his family seeing it for the first time. It's amazing how well he's learned my language and how much effort he makes to improve his pronunciation. I'm super excited!

Lots of previous old posts about kind of disgusting things happening with donut walls (e.g., donuts falling off, people [kids] touching donuts they weren't taking, donuts getting hard/stale fast, frosting melting/running and dripping down the wall). It seems like a cool Pinteresty idea, but often falls short in execution. At one of the venues we toured, the coordinator told us the donuts delivered didn't have holes, so they had to smash them onto the pegs.... Yikes!

I’ve been to several weddings with donut walls last year. None of the donuts fell or melted off. They didn’t get stale and I never saw a kid touch them.

I didnt want to do one for my wedding because I saw 3 last summer but I think it’s a cute idea.

We’re getting married in New Orleans. So, we’re doing things that are common there for wedding but unique for us and our guests: late night snack of cafe au lait shots & beignets and a second line parade with a brass band between the ceremony and reception. I’m excited!

Our wedding will be outdoors and we decided we wanted to have lawn games.
We made custom cornhole boards, we’ll have horseshoes, and we’re making a oversized connect 4 game. Along with a Viking themed photo booth.
    Super excited 😍😍😍

We’re getting married on a yacht during a harbor cruise. The whole event is only 4 hours, so to maximize the timeline we are avoiding pretty much all standard wedding things. We have no bridal party, and FH and I might walk in together. We’re avoiding spotlight dances, toasts and bouquet/garter toss, and the reception will be more cocktail style. Even though there’s a full buffet for dinner, we’re going to allow guests to eat when they want versus the traditional reception set up where everyone is seated at the same time and excused to eat when I say so haha.

Now that somebody said it, I want a bonfire!
Ok, so we're doing a logo but not one with our initials. It'll be for HowCo Industries, which is a combination of our names. We're going to incorporate a pineapple as a symbol of hospitality, which is a big thing here in Charleston.
During the wedding the logo will have a little ribbon that says "presents" but when we use it on stationary and such afterward the ribbon will say "est. 2019".
We fully expect people to only get it because it's weird and so are we.

My cousin had a very kid friendly wedding & did a station with all unique beers on tap then a mini version on the side with all unique sodas “on tap” for the kids & it was a huge hit! I also like the donut wall idea! I think it will be very picturesque!! Ive gotta get cracking on the creativity for my wedding haha

We're taking our guests sailing on a tall ship, we'll have a mock battle (with cannon fire!) with another tall ship out in the SF bay. Smiley laugh

We are getting married on a boat! I will also be incorporating a few subtle Star Wars elements into the reception because I have no self control.

My wedding theme is space. My FH is obsessed with planets and star constellations. So a I am planning a twinkling reception. Which is working surprisingly well with my eggplant and grey colors. Not exactly nontraditional, but it's letting me be super creative. Trying not to go very "in the guests face" with it is turning out to be a ton of fun. Smiley smile

I will be serving gyros at my wedding. There will be pasta for the ones who don't like or want to try gyros. But gyros will be served it is one thing I won't compromise on.

Oh sorry- I forgot privacy settings Smiley tongue

The invitation is a gatefold design so I showed you both sides. We'll be tying them with red ribbon edged in gold and attaching a little key charm.

We have a lot of fun plans for decor, too! LOL I'm kind of hoping we can find someone who wants to do the same wedding theme after and sell it all because we're putting so much work into it.

Love this! I am doing something similar - cocktail celebration on a rooftop. No traditional wedding dances, cutting of the cake, etc. We are having an intimate marriage before with just family.

We are doing a tiny beach wedding and reception with a fire pit and s’mores. I swear once I saw the fire pit and possibility of s’mores that’s all I could focus on!
