Fun Daddy-Daughter Dances

Helen, on June 13, 2017 at 6:38 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14

My Dad and I are not traditional, nor very sappy. When I asked him his opinion he replied "Boogie Fever" to which I laughed and agreed to and my mother said "ABSOLUTELY NOT" So any fun Father/Daughter songs? Also my fiance and I are doing our first dance to "You're My Best Friend" and our last song of the night is "Don't Stop Me Now" , so bonus points for Queen!

My dad and I are doing "Alive" by Empire of the Sun. It's definitely not traditional or sappy lol

You should do something that is significant and enjoyable for you two, as long as it isn't something that will make your guests uncomfortable.

I think your Dad's idea is adorable.

My dad & I shagged to MY Girl. I had no idea he could shag! I had just taken him 5 days before my wedding to get injections in his back because he was down with it. One of my favorite parts of my wedding!

My dad is pretty country, and I have a childhood love for The Bellamy Brothers, so I'm thinking "Let Your Love Flow" would be fun. I haven't talked to him about it, though. I've been googling lists.

@Helen I really want to use "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen for our last song! We have a band though and I doubt they will be able to do Freddie Mercury justice Smiley sad

@MelissaHH I know I'm pretty disappointed. We are thinking of asking the band to play some Queen on their breaks and they aren't performing. My son is a huge Queen fan and we need to have some Queen for him!

I had never heard the song "Boogie Fever" before so I youtubed it and while it is different it may be a blast to dance to. If it makes your dad happy do it.

My dad I actually a really good dancer and we wanted to do something that was faster paced. We danced to Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses and had a lot of fun with it.

We are using a special version of Bob Dylan's forever Young. Totally untraditional, totally not sappy

We played What's up? By 4 non blondes. Play something that's special to you guys, it's not very traditional but we had everyone singing with us and my brothers and sisters all got really into it too so it made it even more special
