fs Walking Parents Down the Aisle as Part of Processional, or Before?

Sophie, on November 25, 2019 at 9:07 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 13

Question for those whose FS is walking with their parent(s) down the aisle. Are they doing this as part of the processional, or is it happening before the processional begins? Are they having their own song for this, or is it the regular background music before the ceremony officially starts?

Thank you!

It normally happens before I believe normally ur FH will walk his mother down to her seat and then the MOTB will be walk down by your brother or a usher to her seat.

I actually asked something along this line on here as well. The conclusion was it's really up to you, and we shouldn't stress over it.

My plan was to have the grandparents, my mom, his dad and stepmom, him and mom, follow by the wedding party. I'm planning to have my musician switch song when my fiance walks in and the song will continue for the wedding party. I still need to talk to my musician about it, so that may change

My fiancé is escorting his mother down the aisle during the processional. They’ll walk to the same music as my mother.

My husband walked his Mom down first and then took his place at the alter, all parents and grandparents walked down to the same song.

We had 5 sets of grandparents so we decided just to have them seated already. Hubby & minister walked down together, then hubby’s parents, my brother walked my mom down followed by the wedding party. They all walked to the same song since it was long enough. Then my dad & I had our own song.

It’s really whichever you prefer. My husband walked down the aisle with his dad and brother as part of our processional. Groomsmen went first, then him and his dad and brother, then bridesmaids, then me. But I’ve also seen it done that the groom walks his parents down first. Totally up to you

That is exactly what I'm thinking! Background music going on, then a new song for FH to walk with his parents down the aisle, then bridesmaids, then the song changes when my mom and I walk down the aisle. Thanks for your input!

That sounds perfect, unfortunately we won't have any grandparents at our wedding but I love this idea.

Wow, that's a lot of grandparents! That sounds perfect, I think we'll do something similar where everyone has the same song until my mom walks me down the aisle Smiley smile

I had my two grandmothers and my mother ushered down the aisle. It was The marines for the arch of swords, then my DH and the officiant. My maternal grandmother and my uncle, then my paternal grandmother and my uncle, my mother and my brother in law. (then the bridal parties) the marines entered to the regular prelude music. then everyone else walked to the same song. My father and I walked to a separate one.
