Frustrated with last minute cancellations…

My wedding is literally 3 days away and I have gotten 10 cancellations since Sunday! I even sent two reminders out as RSVP was due end of July for a September 20th date. What is wrong with people, do they not understand that it costs money for their RSVP and it’s not refundable. Just upset and irritated, guess we will see if anyone else
provides a lame excuse to cancel… I get stuff comes up but most of this was easily avoidable. Just me venting… don’t mind me none! I’ll still have a great day regardless of who is there as I am marrying a man I have waited years to find. Just sad, mad, all the feels. Thanks for listening!

I'm sorry to hear that so many are now cancelling. That's disappointing, frustrating, and money wasted.
I do think part of the problem is that your RSVP was due way too early. RSVPs should be due 2 - 3 weeks before the wedding to help prevent some of that. It sounds like some guests had good intentions, but now work obligations, illness, or other things have come up.

I hope the wedding went well. Hopefully people also learn its best to get a better determination of their ability to make to these events. Did you get any late RSVPs that you were able to accept because of the ones who could not make it after all?

Had a couple people last minute, but not enough to make up the difference. There were another 15 no shows the day of.

I don’t think that is the case, like I said I sent 2 reminders out before the wedding. One was 3 weeks before and the last 1 week before the wedding confirming attendance again. So they had ample notifications and reminders for the day via various methods of text, emails and phone calls. The excuses were not around work, illness or anything I would consider a reasonable excuse. One excuse was I forgot I had a nail appointment?? So that to me just says pure disregard for someone you consider a friend. I still had a good day regardless. ❤️
