Fruit station

Arely, on June 26, 2010 at 2:03 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hello,

I would like to have a "fruit Station" at my reception instead of a "candy bar" or chocolate fountain station. I am having a challenging time finding this type of service that includes a "fruit bar or fruit station" with decorations included. Catering places do have fruit platters but not a package with linen and set up included for the fruit station. Any one know of a caterer or service provider that does this type of service in the chicagoland area?

This may be a project that you can do yourself & save lots. But the linens from a fabric store in your color, Satin is nice & can be found cheap. Or a fabric matching the linens for your tables at the reception. You can stack sterdy boxes beneath the linen in two different heights if you want a staircase effect. With you creating the station (probably $40 tops) you could then get the catering places to do fruit platters for you .. fruit boats are also very unique and fun!!!

Don't know your theme, but there's a restaurant here on the west coast of Florida that does a fruit palm tree. "Tree trunk" is studded w/toothpicks holding chunks of pineapple, strawberries, cheese, etc.

I was going to mention edible arrangements but looks like people beat me to it. They make cool arrangements, however they aren't the cheapest place necessarily. Maybe you can find some that you like and turn it in to a DIY project to save some cash.
