Friendships ending

Yvette, on September 2, 2022 at 11:44 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
I just need advice from a bride that has possibly been in my shoes. I decided to end a 14 year friendship with one of my bridesmaids. We had been growing apart for some time but I was badly trying to hang on to the friendship. She is not in a good place in life and has not been for a while. I felt like she changed once I got engaged, almost as if she couldn’t be happy for me because of her own misery. So we ended our friendship, drama free. However, she went to my other friends and stirred the pot. It ended with she said you said you said, gossip, and drama. All this took place behind my back. Last weekend they tricked me into believing they set up a beach day for me and it turned into an ambush and they even recorded the whole thing. Obviously these girls were never my friend and I understand that. One of them was an addict and did a lot shady things to be in the past but since she got clean I forgave her and we moved on. It seems pretty simple, move on, these weren’t friends, but I’m having a hard time just being happy and excited now. How do I not let this get to me? How will I be feeling the day of my wedding ? I have tone of support and a big circle of friends and family, but just never expected this from those closest to me.

Ewww that’s gross that they did that to you. I m so sorry this happened to you but you don’t want people like that in your life. Surround yourself with love right now and try not to give them another ounce of your energy. Sending you a big hug 💕

Wow that's a really awful thing for them to do. I would walk away from that group in your life.

Hi I'm sorry that you are going thru this when you should be getting more excited about your wedding day. And I've heard when a friend get engaged married or is excepting. That the green eyed monster appears and shows you what you were supposed to see. So now that you know have that they were really your friends and you dont need to think about them on your wedding day think of your new future and I hope that you get better friends that will support you. Have a amazing wedding day

Be happy that you saw their true colors before the wedding and these horrid excuses for human beings won't be tainting your wedding photos

    So sorry about what happened
