This is just to vent. Sorry if this bugs anyone.

I have a friend that knows that I have been slowly planning my wedding for a few months and she asked me some basic questions. She asked how much say do my bridesmaids get on their dresses and how much are they allowed to spend and if the dresses were going to be different. I simply told her that I am paying for their dresses as my gift to them and that what I get is their dress. (I did speak with each bridesmaid and they all love that). They are only responsible for their shoes and hair.

My friend is getting married this Halloween and she told me this morning that she is now paying for her bridesmaid dresses instead of them paying for it, but they are on for their hair, makeup and shoes. She got those ideas from me.

With her doing that, I am afraid to show her the flower girl tote bags because I don't want her copying that from me too. I am a bit upset by this.

Am I wrong for feeling this way?

One of my bridesmaids is getting married next year, our wedding is this fall. She and I have been bouncing ideas back and forth off each other. I'm a bridesmaid for her wedding. It took me 3 months to decide on colors (plum, charcoal & ivory) and she just picked similar colors for her wedding (lavender, dark purple & gray). I told her hey if you want any of our decor let me know. Weddings are expensive and if I can help her I want to. Neither of us really know what we're doing lol.

Try to think of it as her taking inspiration from you!! Haven't you ever heard the saying "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"? It's really true. If she didn't like your ideas, or wasn't impressed by them, she wouldn't be copying them. So, I know it feels irritating, try to be flattered by it. She's basically telling you what good taste and great ideas you have! Go with that!!

p.s. I wouldn't show her the tote bags either! lol
