Hi everyone!

For those who have attended or who are having or DID get married on a Friday, how was it? FH and I keep going back and forth to whether we should have a Friday ceremony or Saturday. We're having an incredibly small wedding with only 28 attendants. We don't know what to do. By the way, we're going to a Chinese buffet restaurant for our mini reception. Fridays are a bit better than Sundays, right? What are your thoughts?Smiley smile

We are having a Friday wedding. At our venue Fridays and Sundays get a good discount so we are saving quite a bit of money, which meant we could actually afford to up our guest list a little and still be within budget. All of our VIPs said they were fine with the Friday. And the rest of our family and friends are local so wont have to drive far. I think if guests are given enough notice before hand, via save the dates, or word of mouth, then they have plenty of time to organize and figure out what they need to do. Unfortunately for us our ceremony space could only do 5pm at the latest, they originally said 430 but I pushed back and they said 5pm. It's not ideal, and I know some people may not be able to make the ceremony due to work etc, but we discussed it and because we love our ceremony space so much, we are keeping the time. We are not going to be upset of people dont make it for the ceremony but show up an hour later at the reception. Honestly, we probably wont even notice! As for the Thursday rehearsal, we are planning it for later in the evening around 630 or 7 if we can, to give people time to get there from work. Plus it will be super relaxed.

Personally, I love Friday weddings. You get to party with friends and loved ones Friday night. Recover Saturday. And still have Sunday to do whatever you want before heading back to work Monday. As long as I have enough notice so I can make arrangements, I'll be there.

Hey Do what’s best for your budget. People make time for things that are important to them. All of your guest are local so I think Friday is fine. If you can do it a little later in the evening where people aren’t rushing too much from work that would be helpful.

My friend had a Friday afternoon Wedding. At first I was a little annoyed bc it was about an hour and a half away so it wasnt enough time for me to work a half day and get there on time. But it got me a whole day off work so it wasn't too bad! FH and I made a weekend of it. Got a hotel room in the area for Friday night and it was fun!
Given you're having a small wedding I say go for it!
