Freestyle or choreographed first dance?

Are you putting together a routine or will you let the music take control and freestyle? How will you show your moves?

We are just going to do a normal slow dance. I'm not big on the staged dances. You can tell they are staged and sometimes a little akward to watch lol.

We are not the kind of people to confidently pull off a choreographed dance together, and despite my background in dance, it’s just not our style to do have choreography. We were totally boring at our wedding but we didn’t care. We just held on to each other and swayed in a circle. Our song was only 2 minutes anyway!

It's not about the show. It's about you and your partner dancing together for the first time as a married couple. I think it should be freestyle. And then maybe a choreographed dance with the bridal party.

We took dance lessons and are learning a choreographed routine to our song! So excited.

It's definitely not us to learn a routine for our first dance. Both of us would be laughing at how horrible we're doing and we probably wouldn't take it serious so it would be a waste of money and time. We're probably just going to high school dance it lol.

Free style, but if we were pro dancers I would totally learn a choreographed classic first dance. I love watching people who can actually dance, do it!

Definitely freestyle. My FH loves to dance but is super rhythmically challenged. His favorite moves are the "wacky arm flailing inflatable tube man" and something he calls the "gorilla". I'm sure we are going to look ridiculous but it will be a ton of fun!

We wouldn't be able to handle choreography, but we are just randomly dancing to our song every once in awhile in these last several weeks before the wedding so that we're not totally stiff and awkward. It's actually kind of nice to take breaks from "did you do this yet? when are you doing this?" conversations and just dance together! It's also given me time to make gentle suggestions, e.g. "you have to lead me" and "you can't just do a bunch of spins and dips the whole time". Ha!

My partner and I plan to freestyle our first dance. We enjoy dancing with each other, so it shouldn't be too difficult to have a nice first dance.

We did the ol' hug and sway, haha. H was very demonstrative in his singing though, so I think it was a little entertaining too.

Freestyle for sure- to me the first dance when it's choreographed with ballroom dancing its a little too stiff and awkward. don't get me wrong i think it would be beautiful to be able to do it-but i would look so awkward so swaying around it is!!

Freestyle for sure! I think choreographed dances come off cheesy and I don't think your wedding day should be about "performing" for your guests.
